I zipped my bag with a long sigh.

Everything's ready, I realized as I held my lower back, looking around the studio apartment.

Train ticket, documents, cash, charge... I mentally checked everything on my checklist.

I put on my coat and sat on the only chair in the kitchen, already dreading going outside.

I had left the little TV on for background noise.

"Good Night Seoul! It's December 12th and everybody's eagerly waiting for the snow of the year! Could it be tonight..." the TV anchor spoke excitedly.

My phone buzzed on the table.

Finally.

I squinted my eyes to the screen

I squinted my eyes to the screen.

Was I lucky or was he just a scammer?

No way someone wouldn't try to negotiate such a high price for a used motorbike.

Only one way to find out... I shrugged, getting the bunny bag on my back with all the legal documents for the bike, and walked down the stairs.

As sad as I was to be selling my bike, I knew it was the right decision.

The money I'll get out of it will allow me to pay back all my debts in Seoul. I already knew what a gigantic weight it will lift off my shoulder.

I pushed the heavy building's door, the cold December breeze blowing inside. The little bunny bag ears flapped on my back as I walked up to the only corner of the street with a lamp post.

The street was empty.

The temperature had lowered so much in the past days, nobody wanted to stay outside for longer than necessary. There weren't even any cars passing by.

The yellow street light was sizzling above my head, but other than that, it was very quiet.

I had left my bike outside, securely locked to the building's gate, looking cold and shiny in the distance.

I waited, smelling the crisp air.

Perhaps they were right, I thought as I looked up to the dark sky without any visible star.

Perhaps it will snow tonight.

I took in a breath of fresh air, my head looking up to the sky, getting lost in my thoughts.

I knew there would be stars in Mokpo. My parents' farm was far enough from the city to allow a few stars to shine bright at night.

I was so absorbed in my daydreaming I didn't even hear his heavy steps getting closer.
