Taehyung felt much better after calling his sister.

She assured him he had nothing to worry about and even mentioned Yejin's intervention had relieved her a bit from the tension of meeting her former bully.

"It's still not right, the way she acted..."

"I agree with you."

Taehyung had his gloomy face on as we walked hand in hand to the condo's entrance.

"And the way she spoke to you..."

"I know."

I squeezed his hand in mine and smiled at the doorman as he called an elevator for us.

"I'll try to meet her this weekend. We'll talk things out."

"Do you want me to come with you?"

I gave him a gentle smile before pecking a quick kiss on his cheek.

He's cute when he's being protective.

"Really," he insisted as if I wasn't taking him seriously. "I didn't like at all the attitude she had with you," he added with worried eyes.

"It's really fine," I answered, looking at my high heels on the shiny marble floor. "She isn't as bad as she made herself look."

It hit me the next second.

I blinked at the floor between us, seeing my reflection in it.

Am I afraid Tae might think badly of Yejin?

We entered the elevator and I thought of it, looking at the numbers scrolling up on the digital screen.

I should have known better. I should have known Taehyung wouldn't have been able to contain himself. At least, not in such a closed environment. I wasn't blaming him, I was blaming myself for not knowing better.

I should have tried to speak with Yejin earlier. She should have tried too. We were both at fault.

But even then... I was somehow still bothered by the idea of my boyfriend disliking my only best friend in Seoul.

Are we even still friends? I realized, an electric shock going through my spine.

I closed my eyes and bit the inside of my cheek.

What's this odd feeling in my chest?

I placed a hand on my ribcage, rubbing it gently.

"Are you OK?"

I opened my eyes to a very concerned Taehyung. He stooped to meet my eyes, his hand squeezing around mine.

"Y-Yeah," I reassured him right away.

I realized Taehyung probably had misplaced my concern because of what he said next.

"Don't talk to her tonight. Ignore her. She'd better not even look at you-"

"Tae! It's OK. I really don't care..."

I didn't want him to think it was OK to start dissing on Yejin now.

"What about you and Jungkook?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

Taehyung frowned, dismissing the matter by waving his hand to the side.

"This maknae..." he clicked his tongue against his teeth. "I love him with all my heart but I can't stand him these days... I don't blame him for taking a stand for his girlfriend... But I feel like he's losing himself in this relationship."
