Chapter 39

Eve, Audrey and I yelled in happiness, hugging each other before we jumped over the barrier and to find our companions.

I ran straight to Niall, to see he was around all his team mates and cheerleaders celebrating their first win. I pushed through the crowed, hugging few guys from the team. I could see his dirty blonde hair peaking above the people and made my way to it.

I finally pushed through to see his sweaty body facing away from me, but what broke me was what I saw after that.

He was kissing Julie, Julie was kissing him, and they are kissing each other. I could feel tears begin to sting in my eyes. Julie looked over his shoulder and smile devilish at me, pulling away from him.

But I didn’t want to stick around to see what happened next. I turned back and ran, just took off. Not caring who I pushed I just ran.

I could feel my heart literally shattering and my bones aching. My breath was heavy and loud as I stopped. I was a good 20 minute walk away from the field. But I still could feel the pain.

I sat on the nearest park bench and placed my head in my hands.

I can’t believe I him, I can’t believe I trusted him, I can’t believe I thought I could change him. But really people like him should never be changed. I should have listened to my head and stayed away from him. I guess I wasn’t good enough for him. He wants they type of girls I’m not. He wants the skinny, pretty, dress wearing, caked make up, revealing girls that cater to his ever need and I’m not like that.

I shut my eyes tighter, not wanting a tear to slip from my eye. I never cry and I’m not going to start for a stupid boy that never cared for me and lied and ughhhh.

I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I lifted my head from my hands, but kept my eyes shut and let out a shaky breath. I reached into my pocket to see 6 messages; one each from Audrey, Eve and Liam and 3 from Niall.

I looked up to the sky to see purple and black shades covering it meaning I’ve been sitting here for a while. I put in my password and read Audrey’s message first.

What happened to you? – Audrey

Where are you? I can’t find you – Eve

Banana, are you okay?– Liam

I smiled at their concerns and read Niall’s text next.

Hey babe, where are you?

Don’t i get my prize for scoring 2 goals, remember our bet ;)

Okay, seriously where are you? Are you okay?

I smiled at the last message, but remembered his stupidness at the game and shut my phone off hastily, shoving it in my back pocket again. I sat back on the chair and sighed, steading my heart beat.

“Anna?” an unaware voice called. I looked up stunned to see Luke, squinting his eyes through the setting darkness. I sniffed once more, happy that I didn’t let out a tear and that he can’t see my red face.

I got up from the seat and smiled “Hi, Congrats on the win!” i moved in to hug him and he accepted it “You okay, what are you doing here? Your friends are at the café” he asked, pulling back and gripping the strap of his bag.

“Oh I’m walking to my dorm but I had to take a phone call” I lied, fake smiling. I felt my hand fidget and held them together. He nodded “But your dorms the other way” he mentioned pointing the other way. “I guess I lost track and kept walking” I said, faking a laugh.
