~Y/n P.O.V~
I walk back inside just in time for Antonio's walk, I squeeze through people to get back to family who are standing right by the stairs, I get in between Marco and the stairs.
I lean closer to Marco "Hey Marco can I borrow your jacket?" I whisper to him and he nods as he begins to take it off and hand it to me
Once it's handed to me I quickly put it on and cover my arm. I look up at the top of the staircase at Antonio's soon to be door when a certain pair of green eyes catches my attention instead
Camilo smirks at me while wiggling his eyebrows and I chuckle before waving him off, but still curious as to what he'll do so I look back up. But instead of seeing him at the top of the stairs he's...gone?
"Boo!" I hear someone whisper in my ear which makes me jump slightly
I quickly turn around to see Camilo standing behind me
"What the-? Camilo go back up there!" I harshly whisper as I slightly shove him under the stairs
"But it's boring up there and we're still waiting on my little brother" He pouts and tries to pull a puppy dog face
"That's not gonna work on me, Camilo" I say as I cross my arms and smirk at him
"Damn....but can I just stay down here until it officially begins??" He asks me with hopeful eyes
"No you cannot Cami, what're you even doing down here?" We hear Dolores say which makes us both jump
"Geez Dolores! Do you have to ease drop on every conversation I have?" Camilo asks his sister with an irritated look
She gives his a deadpanned look and I shake my head as I place a hand on his shoulder making him turn my way immediately
"Your sisters right, this is Antonio's big night. Don't take it away from him by not being there for him at his most special moment" I say and Dolores nods
"Alright Alright..." Camilo says and Dolores begins to walk away
Camilo watches as his sister walks away before checking if the cost is clear then hugging me, burying his face into my neck, my breath hitches in my throat as I feel my heartbeat increase by a million.
I wrap my arms around him and hug him back as I feel him squeeze a bit tighter, we pull away from the hug and I give him a sweet smile before turning back towards my family
"Go be a good big brother and I'll find you after he opens his door, ok?" I say and Camilo nods his head rapidly with a goofy grin before running off to rejoin his family
I rejoin mine just in time as the lights dim and Antonio is brought into the light. I smile as I see him stand there and remember Camilo standing there when we were both younger. I continue to look at him waiting for him to move but he doesn't instead he reaches his hand out to the side and is asking for whoever is there to walk with him
"Mirabel..." I hear Carlos whisper so I look up at him
"Huh?" I whisper to him
"Antonio's asking Mirabel to walk with him" Carlos whispers back before slightly pointing to the rest of the madrigals
"See she isn't with the rest of her family so she's probably there" Carlos says as he points to the Antonio
And as if on cue Mirabel walks out and holds onto Antonio's hands as they both begin to walk towards the stairs. As Mirabel passes me and Carlos we both smile at her and give her reassuring looks.
As they climb the stairs everyone gathers closer to the stairs as we wait for Antonio to open his door. As always Antonio must take the promise to use his gift to help the village and his familia, he of course agrees and begins to slowly walk towards his door.
I see Carlos have a worried expression as well as the rest of the Madrigals especially their Abuela. As Antonio hesitates on opening his door when he finally does his door bursts with light as a drawing of him is traced into his door along with animals and that's when a Tucan lands in Antonio's arm. Antonio begins to talk about to the Tucan before he fully opens his door and everyone rushes up the stairs to see his room
"Jesus Fuck! You think people would have some patience" I think to myself as Carlos drags me up the stairs to see Antonio's room
As we reach the top and somehow manage to get inside Antonio's room, Carlos immediately goes to find Mirabel leaving me to mingle with people. I walk around for a bit before I get pulled to side by....Señora Pepa
"Hola Señora Pe—" I start before she cuts me off by grabbing my face and inspecting it
"Hmmm seems like Camilo got his fathers taste with a side of attitude" She says before smiling brightly
"She's perfect guys!" She yells out and the rest of the madrigals come out of hiding
"Perfect for what?" I ask as I take Señora Pepas hands off of my face and step back away from the family
"For Camilo!" They all say in unison with bright smiles
Everyone.....
except for Abuela Alma....
