Chapter 26: Darkness

~Y/n P.O.V~

Soon I only see dark before I hit something hard....really really hard before I feel water encase my body and I get violently shoved around

I try to float to the surface and get some air before I'm pulled back under and am hit with something sharp in my right calf

I get above the water and scream

"Somebody help me please!!!" I yell as I pass a hole with light coming out from the top before it quickly passes and I'm pulled back under the water, I feel something grab onto my leg and it stops me from moving

I turn around and get rushed with water as I begin to cough, I turn back around and continue to cough as I hear yelling coming from the whole

"D-*cough* down here! *cough*" I say and I hear them run towards the spot

"There's someone down here!" I hear a man before I see a head poke down and look around before spotting me

"There's a kid!" He yells before I feel whatever was around my foot let go and the water pulls me along

"No! Plea—" I yell before I'm pulled under the water and get dragged around

I reach the surface again and gasp for air as I try to open my eyes but it gets covered with water, I use my legs to try and get more above the water and I quickly open my eyes

As I open my eyes, I look ahead and see a branch sticking out of the wall and try to swim over to grab it, thankfully I do and I hold on as I catch my breath and watch all these pieces from the house rubble pass by me. I hiss as I feel pain and I look down at my hand and see blood gushing out and then my leg which happens to be having the same issue

I hoist myself up into the branch and grab Camilo's Ruana and rip off a piece of it before wrapping my hand then proceeding to do the same with my leg

I look down at the water when I hear a small squeak and see a rat trying to swim and immediately panic as I notice a little bit of green dye on its back

"Bruno fucking protect your rats!" I say out loud and I dive into the water and grab it, it latches onto me and I hold onto it with my bandages hand

"Fuck! I didn't think this through!" I yell out as I get submerged under the water again and hold my injured hand with the rat up

I try to swim up to the surface but end up getting hit with a rock, I feel my air slowly begin to leave and I try swim up and get air but instead I get hit again and more air leaves. I reach up and grab onto something and use it to help me get above the water and breath, I begin to feel the side of my head sting and I gently touch it and pull my fingers away to see blood. I groan before looking ahead and hearing a bunch of water

I let go of the object and begin to swim slightly towards the sound as I occasionally get pulled under the water. As I get closer to the sound before I realize it's a small waterfall, not big enough to hurt me but there's a drop I can hear it through the echo it makes

I swim a little faster as I hear the rat begin to panic squeak

"Listen here, it's either we do this now or we wait. Regardless we have to do this, I'll protect you as if I were Bruno ok?" I say as the rat calms down before gripping it's tiny paws onto my thumb

I swim faster towards the sound as it becomes louder and louder eventually I fall down the small waterfall. I hold the rat close to me as I spin around in the air and end up hitting the water on my back.

I get pulled under the water and my back ends up hitting a rock, I wince as I feel the pain that I know will later leave a bruise and I swim back up and gasp, I get shoved around in the river as I realize we've entered rapids as the shoving and the echos become more violent

"Shit" I think to myself as I pull the rat close

"Hang on little buddy" I saw as we enter the rougher rapids and more water splashes into my face

I get thrown into a rock and wince in pain as I feel something cut across my back, I place my free hand on top of my injured one to make sure the rat's still there and it thankfully is

I get smashed into another rock but through my head and I groan out as I hear the rat squeak

"What is it?" I ask before I fell myself get pulled under and I yell out

I feel something gripped onto my leg but it isn't piercing my skin, I dive a little farther and feel the face of the creature but but I can't make out what it is, it seems to be holding my leg and trying to lead me somewhere and/or pull me somewhere

But before I can fully process what it's doing and where it's trying to pull me to, I feel something smash into my back and my memory and vision go blank

~Small Time Skip~

I slowly come back into consciousness as I see light through my closed eyes, I hear soft speaks and soft growls and assume it's the rat and whatever creature had my leg

I keep my eyes closed and my body limp as the energy I once had is just drained from my body I hear the sound as running water but it isn't as violent as before

"Am in a creak or something?" I think to myself as I'm slowly dragged by my feet down a Little Rock wall

I'm pulled through water until I'm placed gently on what feels as though a bank of some sort, I feel a cold breeze rush over me and goosebumps cover my body before warm fur is pressed against the side of my body

I feel myself relax before something small lays on my stomach and I see the sunlight grow a little brighter, as I relax more I feel myself slowly begin to go unconscious again

Soon I'm passed out again

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and as I said before Y/n doesn't die! Sorry if this chapter is really shitty, I'm like half asleep almost. Hopefully this semi-makes up for last chapter is not I got another good one on the way!

The whole ordeal with the other book is settled so no need to worry about that, this person responded a lot quicker than the other and was completely nice about it all
