(Two hours ago before the marriage)

"Dad, What do you mean by 'Phi ran away'?" Gulf asks his father in disbelief.

He couldn't understand what was happening anymore. First, he had no idea that his brother was getting married, until yesterday. Shocked at the news and with so many questions in his mind, he had taken the first flight back to Bangkok in the middle of his vacation and had arrived just this morning, and now his father was telling him that his Phi has run away.

He isn't ready to believe that his brother can do something like that on his own wedding day even as he watches his father clutching the piece of paper his Phi has left behind as proof.

"No wait, Phi must be here somewhere, let me give him a call. You know how he gets so nervous before any important event in his life, right?" he tries to smile at his father and fumbles to pull out his phone. His hands tremble as he calls his brother, praying that it would connect. Praying that he is right about him being here somewhere and he is just out taking a walk or something because he is having wedding jitters, that his father had just misunderstood the situation. But the mechanical voice on the other end answering that the phone has been switched off shatters all his hope. He shakes his head, "No, it must be a network problem" he nods to himself stubbornly and moves near the window trying to call him again.

His father shakes his head, looking defeated, "It's of no use Gulf. I have looked for him everywhere. It's over. Everything's over."

"No, Dad-"

He gets cut off as the door of the room flies open, hitting the wall so loudly, it makes him want to shrink away somewhere in a corner. He watches frozen at his spot as Mew Suppasit, his brother's fiance, charges toward his father and grabs his collar.

"What the fuck is this? You think this is funny?" Mew shouts, throwing a crumpled letter at Aroon that hits his chest and bounces to roll away, coming to a stop at Gulf's feet. Gulf suspects the letter contains the same words his brother had written to his father, that 'he was running away because he was in love with someone else'.

The door opens once again to bring Mr. Charong Jongcheveevat, Mew's father, inside the room, and following him with teary eyes is Mew's mother, Kosum. She gasps in horror when she sees Mew seething on Aroon's face and calls out "Mew! What are you doing? Leave him right this instant!" She grabs his arms pulling him away until his grip loosens on Aroon.

When Mew turns to his mother, Gulf can see the rage in his eyes but also the hurt reflecting in them.

He turns his gaze away, to his father and his heart breaks when he sees his father with his head hung low, hands joined in shame in front of the Jongcheveevats, "I am sorry, Mew. I am shocked too. I had no idea this would happen. I am so sorry."

Heavy silence engulfs the room, until Mew once again takes a threatening step towards Aroon, "Did you know your son was in love with someone else?" his voice is low but at the same time, so cold Gulf feels a chill run down his spine in fear.

"I.." Aroon takes a pause, "I was aware but he told me that they had broken up months ago."

"You knew your son was in love with someone else and you dared to agree to this alliance?" Mew roars.
