Chapter 60

Mew glances at his watch. If he hurries up he will have enough time to reach home and get freshen up before he and Gulf have to leave for dinner. His baby had already texted him that he is on his way home.

Packing everything up, just as he is reaching for his jacket there's a knock on his door. "Come in" he calls out distractedly, pulling out his phone to dial Tamp to bring the car around. Shit, he should have called him earlier.

Mild enters his office, a grim look on his face and Mew is certain he isn't going to like whatever his assistant has to say.

Mild informs him that another accident has occurred on one of the sites and unlike in previous times someone has been badly injured. It's Zack, his COO. He had gone there to discuss things with the manager when one of the beams collapsed and a concrete slab fell over. Zack who was standing nearby had managed to escape, but unfortunately not fully, sustaining injuries and had been taken to hospital.

Mew sits there shocked for a moment. No matter how much he dislikes Zack, it doesn't change the fact that the man is his employee, that too a great one at that when it comes to his work. The fact that he got injured is deeply upsetting.

Asking Mild to text him the details of the hospital Zack has been admitted to, he is on his way to check on the man.

On the way to the hospital, he texts Gulf about cancelling their dinner plans, his heart clenching as he types his apology. Whoever is behind these accidents, that son of a bitch is going to pay big time for ruining his date with his husband.

Tua-eng🌻:

It's okay, Thee-rak.I was not in the mood for Italian anyways. I will eat Krapoa today.

His precious baby! He is sure his boy is just making excuse for him so he doesn't feel guilty. God! He doesn't deserve such kindness.

You:

I am sorry again.And I already ordered Italian for you though. Would arrive by the time you are home.

At the hospital, he is glad to see Zack alive. The doctors assure that he would be as good as new in a few weeks and there was nothing to worry about, no matter how much Zack was moaning that he was going to die. He just has a fracture in his left arm, a few stitches here and there and a concussion.

This incident has sure put a glitch in their investigation though. Zack was in the list of people he had been suspecting for framing him, in fact, he was the major suspect, but now this idiot's name is obviously out. If he was the impersonator like they were suspecting, he would have been aware of the accidents and possible dangers at the site that has been occurring due to the use of cheap materials. But the fact he was there and got injured crosses out the possibility. He is definitely not the guy they are looking for.

In a way it's a relief. Now at least he won't look like a loser who is being deceived by his own COO. Good to know.
