"Hello, Mae" Gulf greets his mother-in-law through the laptop screen. "How are you all? And how is baby Amara doing?"
Five days ago, everyone had gotten the scare of their life when they got the news that P'Jom had gone into early labor. Mr. and Mrs. Jongcheveevat had immediately flown to the States to be with her. Mew had followed too. Thankfully, baby Amara was born safe and healthy and P'Jom was okay too.
"Everyone is fine here, Gulf. The baby is fine too. Oh, I am so enjoying being a grandmother!" Mae enthused. "How I wish you were here too!."
Before Gulf can say anything, P'Jom comes into the frame. "Yes, Gulf. You should have been here too. I thought I would finally get to meet you" she pouts and Gulf can't help but laugh. This has been the nth time P'Jom is saying that to him. It's like that every time he has been calling this week.
"He has his studies. He can't just drop everything and come running here just because you decided to go into the labor" comes Mew's voice somewhere from the background, making Gulf gasp at his words. "He is such a meanie!"
He watches as P'Jom turns to scowl at her side, he guesses where Mew must be. "Well excuse me if I 'decided' to go into labor that day. The weather seemed just so perfect to enjoy some mind-numbing, excruciating labor pain for nine hours. So I thought, why not?!" she snaps, moving to her side and eventually out of the frame.
His mother-in-law shakes her head as she looks at her children bickering before turning her attention back to him. "Who would believe they are grown adults and married?" she sighs.
Gulf chuckles. They talk for some time as she asks about him and mentions how Phor has been missing him too. Few minutes later, her phone starts ringing so she bids him bye, promising to talk to him soon.
"He is so mean" P'Jom huffs referring to Mew when she comes back in the frame just as Mae leaves.
Gulf giggles, "He is." He knows Mew was just teasing P'Jom though. He had seen firsthand how worried Mew was when they had received the call about P'Jom being rushed to the hospital.

"He is." Mew hears Gulf giggle from the other side of the screen. He couldn't see him as he was sitting a little away from his sister, near baby Amara's cradle. He had just come to his sister's room to take a peek at the baby as he does every few hours. He loves watching her, although he hadn't dared to hold her since the day he had been here, afraid he wouldn't know how to and would hurt her accidentally. She is a perfectly healthy baby but still so tiny and delicate. So cute.
His eyes fall on the side of the cradle, where the baby's name is carved elegantly. Amara. What a beautiful name! His sister had explained to him that the word 'Amara' meant 'everlasting' in Greek and Sanskrit and some other languages, it also meant 'Grace'. It was one of the Gulf's suggestions for the name.
He hears Gulf's laugh again and turns to frown at her sister. What are they finding so amusing? Taking a last look at baby Amara, he walks to where his sister is sitting and snatches her laptop to himself.
"Hey!" Jom hisses in protest, but he ignores her and taking the laptop with him, walks out of her room.
"What's happening? Mr. Suppasit? Are you walking? I can only see your shirt. It's you right?" Gulf's confused voice echoes in the hallway as he makes his way to his room. "Where's P'Jom? Wha-"
"Gosh! You talk so much!" Mew scowls as he settles on the couch in his room and angles the screen so they both can see each other properly.
"I wasn't even talking to you. Get me back to P'Jom!" Gulf gives him a petulant look.
