Gulf packs his things as his last class of the day ends and steps out in the hallway. At first, he doesn't realise but as he nears the elevator he slowly becomes aware of how every eye in the hallway is watching him, following him. It isn't unusual since he often gets stared at but today he feels everyone is staring at him, scrutinizing his every move, usually it isn't that bad. As the stares get too much, he ditches the idea of waiting for the elevator and turns to the stairs. Trying to shake the feeling of foreboding off he fastens his pace to get out of there quick, ignoring the murmurs and fingers pointing at him.
By the time he is nearing the exit, he realises that not only his classmates but everybody in the university are gossiping about him!
What is happening? Has someone posted something weird about him again on the university board? He pulls out his phone to check but his heart drops when he sees his phone flooded with messages and calls from Mew, his friends, and everyone from the family. Did something happen while he was in class?
Unfortunately, today his car is parked all the away at the back of the parking space. Walking along the long rows of vehicles with quickening steps, he moves towards his car and is about to call Mew back when his phone starts buzzing with the man's call itself. He immediately swipes up the green button.
"Mr.Suppasit-"
"Oh thank God, Gulf!" Mew's rushed voice comes from the other side. "Where are you right now?" the man sounds relieved but also worried at the same time.
"Is everything okay? I am sorry I didn't see your calls, I was in class!" He hurries to explain and asks again, "What happened? Is everything okay?"
"Yes, but you are still at the university, right? Don't go anywhere, okay? Don't leave your class. I am on my way, I will be there in a few minutes."
Unaware of his surroundings, Gulf is already fishing out his car keys, "What? I don't understand. What happened-" He isn't able to complete his sentence because just when he is about to reach his car, out of nowhere he gets surrounded by people, precisely reporters, and cameras. Call with Mew forgotten, he immediately starts backing away but there is nowhere to go as he is completely surrounded and questions start firing at him all at once.
"Mr.Kanawut, is it true that you are married to Mr.Suppasit?"
"Why did you keep your identity secret?"
"Was this alliance a way to end the known old rivalry between the two businesses? Is that why the C&K Group of companies took over your father's business?"
His mind is reeling with questions about how they found out about him, eyes darting among the faces surrounding him expecting his answers as he is frozen on his spot. The cameras don't stop taking his pictures as more questions are thrown at him making him dizzy.
He has never been in a situation like this before. They are getting into his space, with mics and recorders being thrusted into his face, not giving him any room to leave.
Just as he feels himself start to panic, a car skids to stop near them followed by an SUV. Six men, all dressed in black, exit the vehicle, and his eyes widen as the big, burly men force their way through the throng of the reporters and start flanking his sides. His panicked mind's first thought is that he is getting kidnapped in broad daylight until he sees Tamp cutting through the crowd making way for Mew.
The reporters go even more berserk, now questions and cameras aiming at Mew but the men in black and Tamp shielding their sides keep them away.
Mew is in front of him in a flash, looking unusually disheveled and worried. Warm hands cradle his face and he blinks to focus his gaze on Mew's face. "Are you okay?" the man asks, the deep set of worry lines on his forehead deepening further.
