Gnawing at his lips, from the corner of his eyes Gulf looks to his side at Mew sitting beside him at the dining table typing on his laptop, eyebrows drawn together in concentration. Mew has come down with his work to accompany him while he is studying but Gulf can't concentrate on his books at the looming silence surrounding them. It's been like this for a few days now that Mew has been like this... so quiet.
At first, he had thought he must be occupied with his work but soon realized if that was the matter the man would be at work like he does when he is extremely busy but it's not like that. Mew comes home on time, they do dinner together but it's all silent between them even when they are in the same room. Mew doesn't talk much, though he can feel him sneaking glances at him sometimes but as soon as he turns to him the man averts his eyes. The man doesn't seem to be upset or angry because he had come to sit beside him, but he doesn't look like he is in a good mood either. He seems...guarded. As if afraid he would snap on him anytime. He has an idea about what it could be but it can't be just because of that, can it?
He is so lost in his thoughts he doesn't notice the object of his thoughts is looking at him now, so he gets startled at his voice.
"Are you having trouble with your studies?"
"Huh?"
Mew gestures to his books, "You have been pouting and doodling all over your page for the last five minutes. What's wrong?"
Gulf looks down at his book and indeed it's full of little suns drawn over it. His ears go red and he hastily turns the page over. "Oh, God! What is wrong with me?"
To answer the man's question, he shakes his head in the negative, chuckling nervously, "Ah...no, I am fine. It's nothing."
Mew nods before going back to his work.
See what he means? Gulf sighs and closes his books. It's decided, he can't take this anymore! The Mew he knew would have nagged him until he told him what was wrong, not just accepted his half-hearted reply. The man didn't even smile back at him like he always does! Not fair!
He hums to himself in thought as he contemplates what could be done now. What should he do to make things go back to the way they were? He needs to make this man talk, hear his voice! As he is pondering, his eyes fall on the template fluttering under one of his books and his lips pull up in a smile as an idea strikes him. He isn't sure about it but he gathers it wouldn't hurt to try! So he turns to the man.
"Mr. Suppasit?"
Mew doesn't take his eyes off the laptop screen as he replies, "Yes, ba- Gulf?"
"Huh? Ba-?" He frowns at the Mew's fumble but he has a much important matter at hand so doesn't dwell on it and makes sure to give his best good boy smile as he asks, "Mr. Suppasit, what do you think about painting exhibitions?"
Mew frowns in thought, "I am not a big fan of them."
Aow! He knew it. But oh well! He tried his luck.
"What? Why? What happened?" Mew questions hastily.
"No, nothing" he shrugs dismayed.
The man narrows his eyes at him. "Tell me" he demands.
