Chapter 4

The next day,

Gulf wakes up, gets ready, keeps a hangover medicine with a glass of water at the bedside table for Mew but unlike yesterday instead of going downstairs he slips to the balcony. He doesn't come downstairs until Mew leaves for his office. He didn't want him to go hungry again because of him. He wasn't hiding, No, but if Mew doesn't want to see him he wouldn't go before him, simple as that.

Only after Mew leaves for the office, he comes downstairs and eats while P'Fon keeps him company. Then he is on his way to his condo to pack his belongings. Yesterday Phor had told him that he would send his driver to take him to his place and he just needed to take his personal and important belongings with him and the rest would be taken care of. Gulf appreciates his thoughtfulness. Now, he just hopes his father won't be home later when he goes there, he haven't thought what to say to him yet and wasn't ready to face him.

After taking his important documents and other important things from his condo, he goes to his workplace to submit his resignation. It's a small, cosy restaurant, where he worked part-time after his classes and he likes it here. The owner is a sweet old lady and his co-workers were nice to work with too. His resignation though, doesn't come as a surprise to his boss, because a month ago he had already informed her that he would be quitting after his holidays were over. Since it's going to be his final year of college after the holidays, he wanted to fully concentrate on his studies. So that was the plan, he was going to resign after his holidays were over but now, with his life-changing overnight like this, he has decided it would be better if he just quit this job, he now had other things to worry about.

His boss is sad about his decision but agrees to let him go, adding a condition that he eats lunch with all of them as a parting gift to her. As they all sit, chatting and eating, it hits him hard that he is going to miss working here.

He paid for the all their lunch, it's the least he could do. After that, promising his boss to visit her once in a while, he makes his way to his family home. It seems like luck is on his side because as he had wished his father isn't home so not wasting time, he quickly starts packing his things.

It's a few hours later when he is back at Mew's house. He keeps the box of his belongings on the couch and turns to Phor's driver/bodyguard P'Adit, to take the other box he had helped him carry. "Thank you for your help today, P'Adit" he bows in thanks.

"It's my work, Sir Gulf and thank you for treating me to lunch" Adit smiles at the polite boy in front of him. He is a bodyguard and it's his job to drive around and wait for his boss, to watch out and make sure he is safe. So he was really surprised when his boss' son in law insisted that he too sit with him and his co-workers and eat with them. He had tried to refuse but boy, the kid didn't take no for an answer. It was the first time something like that happened to him and it melted his heart. Fon and he don't have any children, so to see the boy being stubborn with him felt as if someone like his own was asking him for something. It truly touched his heart. "I will take my leave now, Sir Gulf" he nods at the boy and then decides to go and look for his wife. She wasn't exaggerating when she said that her "Sir Gulf is a really sweet person."

True to Charong words, Gulf's things which he had packed to be taken at Mew's house arrive soon.

Gulf looks around the few boxes and his two suitcases. He hadn't packed much, it's mostly his books and clothes with some other knick-knacks he thought were really important. Pulling his sleeve up to the elbows, he stretches his hands, "I better arrange my things before Mr. Suppasit is back" he thinks to himself and starts sorting out his things. He isn't going to invade his whole closet though, he would just put his things in a corner of the closet and will decide later what to do with it.
