Mew climbs out of his car and looks up at the gate, the board hanging over showing the name of the place. "Hope Children home" it reads.
He has returned one day earlier from his business trip and wanting to surprise Gulf, had called Korn from the airport to know about his whereabouts first. Korn had sent him the address of this place, an orphanage. He had been surprised not only to know that Gulf was here but also to find that the orphanage is on the outskirts of the city.
Gesturing Tamp to carry the gift bags and sweets he has brought for the kids, he enters the establishment to find Korn talking to an old lady, both turning to him as soon as he walks inside. He introduces himself to the lady even when she seems to know him and gets to know that she is Lily, the head of the place.
Without further ado and needing for him to ask, she directs him to where Gulf is with the kids. "It's TV time for kids with their favourite person, their P'Gulf" she tells him. "Let me take you there."
As he follows her, he looks around the place and is relieved to see it is well maintained, clean, and bright. Though it could use some help- he comes out of his musings when he realizes that P'Lily is talking to him. "- had watched Lion King and some kids wouldn't stop crying. Some of them here are too young for such heavy emotions. Since then Gulf always makes sure to research and only brings movies or shows that don't have any violent or sad scenes" P'Lily says with an affectionate smile. She stops before a room causing him to stop too, and whispers lightly, "Here we are."
Curious, he peeks inside and finds Gulf surrounded by the kids in the dimly lit room watching cartoon projected on a big curtain screen.
P'Lily leaves him there but not before shooting a knowing smile and he can only grin in return, wai-ing his appreciation before turning back to the room. No one has seemed to notice his presence, so he leans on the door and decides to wait and watch instead of disturbing them. There are at least twenty kids in the room, sitting surrounding Gulf. He grins watching Gulf expressions when light from the screen reflects on his face. His baby is holding a kid on his lap and looks totally engrossed in the cartoon. "So cute!" Only Gulf can look so engrossed in watching 'Oswald' with kids.
It must have been only five minutes with him standing there when the lights go off suddenly and everything turns black.
A chorus of disappointed 'No' echoes in the room followed by calls of 'P'Gulf'.
"I...I am here. No one will move from their place, okay? P'Lily must be bringing the candles" he hears Gulf assure the kids as he pulls out his phone for the flashlight. The kids won't be able to tell but he could sense his baby's frightened voice. Shit!
Turning the flashlight on, he immediately calls out to him, "Baby?" As the small source of light fills the room, he can make out Gulf turning to him, surprised.
"Mr.Suppasit?"
"Tua-eng, I am here" Mew rushes to him, kneeling on the ground beside him and Gulf immediately flings his arms around his neck pulling him close. He feels him trembling against him and pats his hair, "I am here, I am here." But before he can gather him closer, he feels a light punch in his stomach. "Who are you?" they hear an annoyed muffled voice and Gulf pulls away from him much to his dismay. "Oh sorry, Kai" he hears his baby mumble to the kid in his lap for squishing him between them. Mew had totally forgotten about the kid.
Ten minutes later they were all sitting in the candlelit hall of the orphanage. Gulf told him since the orphanage was in the outskirts, it was usual for the electricity to be out sometimes for an hour or two but it wasn't anything concerning. But he was sad that the kids weren't able to complete their favourite show's episode.
