"Are you sure, P'Mew?" Mild asks for the nth time, a skeptical expression on his face.
Kaownah nods beside him, "Yeah, I mean I don't think you need to do this you know. I am sure Gulfie loves you the way you are."
Mew glares at both of them, "Will you two just shut up? I am not writing him love letters with my blood or getting plastic surgery, I am just trying to make a chocolate cake for him!!"
"Blood written letters or plastic surgery would be easier for you to do than making a cake" Mild mutters under his breath.
"I heard that" Mew narrows his eyes at his assistant slash friend, "And why are you two here anyway? Get lost," he dismisses them, going back to counting the ingredients he needs, making sure he hasn't forgotten to buy anything.
Mild and Kaownah share a look that says, 'he-has-totally-lost-it' before rolling their eyes in unison. Mild hops on the kitchen counter, "I am here because I want to make sure you don't blow up the place with your aced cooking skills! Note the sarcasm!" he snorts.
"And I am here because you said and I quote, 'Tong, I need your moral support' " they hear Tong as he saunters into the kitchen sporting an amused smile.
"And I am here just for the laugh" Kaownah announces, rubbing his hands together, "It's going to be so much fun watching the mighty Mew Suppasit bake a cake. Ooo, I can't wait" he smiles evilly.
Mew scowls at the three people he, unfortunately, calls his friends, flips them a bird, and turns back to continue checking the ingredients.
Tong bites the inside of his cheek to stifle his smile, "Okay, okay, enough of this," he says, coming to stand beside Mew, "Let's make the best cake of this world, shall we? So do we have all the ingredients here?"
They all were gathered at Mew's condo after work where Mew has decided to make a cake for Gulf. Yes, a chocolate cake, Gulf's favourite. He wants to do something special for his boy for their marriage anniversary. He still can't believe it's been one year since Gulf came into his life but it's real and tomorrow it's their first marriage anniversary. His first thought was a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant and a gift but that would be too cliche. He wants to do something personal, that would reflect his love for him, that would require him to put in his effort, something that Gulf would really like. Since Gulf isn't too crazy about fancy gifts, he brainstormed lots of ideas for making the day special for him and in the end decided to bake a cake for him. His baby loves cakes! So yes, he is a man on a mission today. He has other things planned too for tomorrow but this is his special surprise for Gulf.
Mild looks around the kitchen, "But why are we at your condo and not at your house. It would have been easier there and if we got stuck somewhere P'Fon would have helped us."
Mew frowns at the bundle of the parchment paper among the lined up ingredients, "Why the fuck this stupid paper is rectangular when this cake thingy (cake pans) are round?! How will it fit in this?"
Tong tilts his head, "We can use the scissor to cut it in a round shape, simple!" he suggests and walks towards the drawers to look for a scissor.
"Oh, okay," Mew nods, "Anyway, to answer your question Mild, if I were to bake this cake at home, no way it would be a surprise for Gulf. P'Fon can't keep a secret to save her life, she would somehow let it slip to Gulf. Also, what if Gulf came home early by chance?" Gulf is at work, today being the first day of his office but Mew doesn't want to take a risk doing this at home and have him walk in the middle of this surprise making. It's almost time for him to return home.
"Wow, you have really thought this through!" Kaownah nods, impressed.
"Of course, what do you take me for?" Mew grunts, taking the scissors from Tong he has finally found.
