On the way to the party, Mew was worried for Gulf after what had happened yesterday and kept glancing at him time and again to make sure he was feeling okay. But was assured when the boy had turned to him, casually inquiring about his day and sharing about his. So cute!
When the car stops outside the gates of the hotel, Gulf is anxious beside him and he finds himself inching closer to the boy, arm going around his waist. "You are going to be fine, relax" he smiles in assurance.
Gulf is stiff in his hold for a moment before slowly relaxing, though not fully, and nods, "Yes. I am okay."
"You sure?" he asks to confirm, fingers drawing soothing circles at his waist. When Gulf nods again and smiles at him, only then he directs Tamp to open their car door. His boy's comfort is more important to him than any party.
To evade the media, just like last time, they avoid entering the party from the main entrance. And as they enter the venue, his arm around Gulf's waist, he can't help but think how perfectly the boy fits in his hold. Perfect!
The party is held outdoors, on the lawn of one of the fanciest hotels in Bangkok and as expected it's nothing short of grand. When they walk in, as predicted, heads turn and they get stared at. Mew has long gotten used to being in the spotlight so he doesn't care much but he can feel it's troubling Gulf just like last time. It makes him want to tell everyone off for staring at his boy.
He knew his boy is looking gorgeous but there is no need to stare too blatantly! Stupid people!
As they navigate through the sea of people, amidst the slow music and chattering of people wafting through the air, and introductions and handshakes getting exchanged, Gulf gradually relaxes in his hold, engaging more in the conversations.
Mew rolls his eyes as the man who was talking their ears off finally leaves them alone. "Who the fuck was he?" he frowns.
Gulf gasps beside him in surprise, "You don't know?"
"You do?"
"How would I?"
"I have never seen him before!"
"He looked like he knew you."
"Gulf, not to brag but everyone in the country knows me."
"No."
"What do you mean 'No'?
"Why was he talking about his vacation plans with us if you don't even know him?"
"Beats me," Mew shrugs.
The boy blinks at him speechless for a moment before suddenly he starts laughing and Mew can't help but follow too. His laugh is too contagious.
"I feel bad for that man" Gulf says as their laughter reduces to quiet chuckles.
"We were the victims of his boring vacation talks, why would you feel bad for him?" he shakes his head in amusement at the weird situation.
Finally, after a few minutes, they are joined by the host of the party, Mr.Theeravit himself. The man is all smiles meeting them and Gulf gets flustered at Mr. Theeravit's blatant adulation and exuberance on seeing him. The man proudly introduces him to the group of men he was with.
Mew watches, smiling proudly as Gulf is engaged in a conversation with the group. No matter how many times he has seen this before, it still surprises him how polite and soft-spoken yet confident and beautifully bold the boy is. He can hold conversations ranging from weather to space and everything in between without breaking a sweat!
Mr. Theeravit turns to him when Gulf isn't looking. "You aren't feeling ignored, are you? I am sorry Mew, but everyone here already knows you, they are more curious about your husband here" the man teases.
