"Oh, wow! What's this?""Don't even dare to put your hands on it" Mew frowns at his secretary before his hands can touch his precious possession.
Startled, Mild stares at him and then the clay elephant sitting on his desk in confusion. "What? Why?"
"It's mine" he simply says before sliding the glass box towards himself. Yes, he had gotten the clay elephant framed in a transparent glass box a day before. Since the day Gulf had given it to him, he used to admire and touch it so often he was afraid he would break it. So he had it boxed so it would always be safe and kept it on his office desk. Now he can look at it as much as he wants without worrying.
Mild raises an eyebrow at him, "Since you are behaving like a possessive ass, let me guess, Gulfie gave that to you?"
Mew glares, "I am not behaving like a possessive ass, I am just saying it's mine."
"Yeah, and obviously there's a difference between the two" Mild snorts sarcastically before taking a seat on the chair across his desk. "Let me take a look at it though, it's a clay elephant, right?"
Mew turns the box towards him, still keeping it far from his reach, "Yes. It's so cute, right?" he gushes. "Gulf specially made it for 'me'."
"It's cute" Mild nods and then shakes his head, "And that kid has the audacity to say that he isn't romantic. Ugh! People in love stink."
Mew scowls at him, "Excuse me! I don't stink and neither do Gulf. In fact, his scent is the most amazing smell I have ever come across, like sandalwood and chocol- what? Why the fuck are you looking at me like that?" He snaps at his secretary's 'I-am-so-done-with-you' look.
"Never mind" Mild rolls his eyes at him before eyeing the box. "I bet your stupid ass doesn't even know the meaning behind it. Knowing Gulf I know he must have known what it is and that's why he chose that particular animal" he points at the elephant.
He frowns in confusion. There's a meaning behind it? But Gulf didn't mention anything like that.
"I was just joking but it looks like you really don't know huh?" Mild laughs at his cluelessness. "Oh, my poor Gulfie! What an idiot of a husband he has got!"
Mew glares at him, "You are fired!"
Mild nods, "Yeah sure. Anyway, I was here just to inform you that everything is ready for the evening."
Mew is already zoning him out as he stares at the clay miniature. What does an elephant symbolize? There's no way he is asking Mild. He remembers the box Gulf had gifted the clay miniature in and bends down to retrieve it from the bottom drawer of his desk. Maybe it has some note or something which he didn't notice. But when he opens the box there is nothing inside. "Yeah, I would have noticed the first time if it had something inside" he frowns.
Sighing, he is about to drink his pride and ask Mild about the meaning when he catches some words under the box and turns it over fully to see Gulf's elegant handwriting. How the heck did he miss it all this while?
"Mr.Suppasit, Elephants are often seen as a symbol of strength, intelligence, and good luck.
But do you know they also represent trust and loyalty? So this is my promise to you. My promise of trust and loyalty to you.
Always Yours."
Mew could cry a river right now! Fuck! Is it possible to fall for someone again and again? Because he thinks he might have fallen for Gulf even more. His precious baby!
"Are you crying?" Mild's voice penetrates his thoughts.
"No, fuck off!" he sniffs. "And thank you, if you hadn't mentioned I would have missed this!" he holds up the box, wondering at the same time why Gulf didn't say anything about it the day he gave it to him at the orphanage.
