A Light in the Shadows.

The Three Elves

Although I was more amused than angry, when i spoke, one of the elves spoke, nervously "U-um.. we were just harvesting some plants and crystals?" 

She had silver hair held up in two buns, she had one gold eye and one green, with soft fair skin.

She sounded nervous. She was really pretty. "Good lord, I'm not going to eat you" I told them "one of the earth dragons told me you were here."

The other elf spoke, "Earth dragon? Are you a dragon? You look to be a human."

 they had bright short blue hair and gray eyes with olive skin. 

I chuckled "dragons are shape shifters, I'm in my human form right now" the blue haired elf whispered something to the silver haired one and they whispered something back.

 silver seemed slightly scared. "So, why were you collecting things?" I asked.

 "Why do you need to know?" the blue haired one asked, not seeming to fully understand that I was a dragon. 

"Because I like to know what people are doing in my territory," I replied dryly. 

"I was collecting things because I was told to." the blue haired one said. The silver haired one spoke quietly, "are you trying to throw me under the bus here?"

 "What are your names?" I wondered aloud. "I'm Amharic Crystalstar!" The blue haired one happily said, "and this is my friend Jelequi Flowerdew!" They said, gesturing to the one with silver hair. 

"Nice to meet you. My name is Seraphina" I told them and tried to keep a straight face as I watched them react. "Nice name!" Amharic said, staring towards me. 

We all heard what sounded like movement from behind a tree.

 I whipped around and in the same fluid motion turned into my dragon form "who's there?" I growled.

 An ice elf stepped out from behind a tree, holding a spear.

 As if that would do anything to me. favorite 

 "Amharic. I told you to stay away from the dragon dens!!!" The cold ice elf yelled at Amharic. "Put down the spear now." I growled, a low and dangerous sound. "No. Stay away from my friends, you beast.

"The nerve when I could kill her in an instant. The ice elf glared at me. Jelequi shakely ran forwards, grabbing the ice elf's arm. "J-just put d-down the spear.. It's a dragon.." Jelequi quietly spoke to the elf, "we don't want to g-get hurt.."

The elf reluctantly dropped the weapon and I picked it up "you think this could hurt a dragon" I scoffed "although I do like your spirit"

"Stay away from me, you monster." The ice elf glared towards me, "And I do think that spear could hurt a dragon. It has killed a dragon before."

my eyes narrowed "I'm as much of a person as this one," I said gesturing to Jelequi, because the ice elf didn't seem to have much of a soul. "Who, per say, did the killing of a dragon?"

"I don't have to answer to a dragon! Especially a hybrid." The ice elf spat angrily.

That stung.

All my life I have been looked down upon because I was a hybrid, and for an elf to say that rubbed salt in the wound

"Actually, I have every right to know who hurt one of my kind and even if I didn't you might want to answer that if you value your little friends lives."

"Stay away from them!" The bitter elf yelled, "threaten me, sure! But don't try anything against my friends!"

"Actually, I quite like your friends, but I still need to know who killed one of my kind"
