I'll spare the details but let's just say it took a while.
Then I had to get a bunch of servants to help me carry up the enormous piles of books.
And then my room was filled with books.
Hmm what book to start with.
Should I start with the least boring book or the most boring? Should I work my way up from mind numbing giant headache boring to mild boring? That's what I'll do.
I should probably look through a less boring book first to catch my interest.
I should also probably gather mounds of paper to make notes on.
Well then here are my notes.
Book one: nothing.
Book 2: nothing
#3: more nothing
#4 useless legend i already knew
#5...
Next thing you know I had gone through seventeen useless books and had a searing headache
Book frickin' 18: wait, does this one actually have... useful information!? Anyway, this book is called legends and lore of the sky. Sounds promising... Let's see. Table of contents... yes! Songs!
I got lost in the book. This one must have been old because the leather it was made of was undyed and the papers inside were yellow and written by hand.
Being elemental dragons, of course we're going to have songs of the sky, but how many of them really connect with legends and lore? I was researching and reading between lines and realized quite a lot of songs, although the most prominent of all was the song connecting to the legend of the Shadowstorm, although I have absolutely no proof it really is the Shadowstorm this lullaby is talking about.
I got excited because this could be it.
I skipped past my mom's song and got right into everything about it.
If this is referencing the Shadowstorm then there must be something, a door or key of some sort in the sky, and, after researching everything I could, I found there was a lost city of sky. Or at least, the ruins of one. It is incredibly difficult to find it and I have no proof it exists, but that is the best bet of where to find this key. The question remains: what about its counterpart? But that is research for another book. I have hidden the instructions to get to this lost city somewhere only a dragon or elf of the sky could find it. The hint is at the back of the book. Good luck finding your lost city.~ Professor Goldsky
I slammed the book closed in frustration, cursing Professor Goldsky then opened it again to look at the back.
So, you're still here. Follow the source.
The power.
I have discovered something amazing.
The prime sources have physical manifestations. "What?" I gasped. Feel your power and think; where does my power pull me? Then find it.
"That's it!?" I yelled "come on, dude!" someone poked their head in and, seeing me, promptly scurried away.
"You have got to be kidding me, '' I muttered.
I looked through the pile to see if I had gotten another of his books.
Maybe he has another book to find the earth's door.
Jelequi's plant, which is earth.
Could that mean anything? Surely not... but anyway, if I could find the sky source and it's real.
First things first, try to find another book by Goldsky.
I should probably update Jelequi, but I want to figure something out without her.
It seems like I can't do anything without her and my self esteem deserves me doing something all by myself.
If I find another book of this guy's and it's a whole other thing about finding the earth source to find the instructions.
I got up and made my way back to the library.
I went up to the long suffering librarian. "Do you have any books by a dragon professor Goldsky?"
"the only one I know of is one of the books you took" the librarian said in an exasperated voice "but you're welcome to look. Shelf three hundred and thirty seven"
"okay, thanks" I said. "Yes, your majesty" I made my way to Shelf three hundred and thirty seven, where I proceeded to scour the shelves for any trace of professor Goldsky.
None at all.
That's strange. An author like him seems like the type to write multiple books. Besides the fact that he literally wrote about maybe making a book about the earth city...
My thoughts drifted to Jelequi... again.
stop it, I scolded myself.
I can't be distracted right now! Before I go to this... place wherever that is I should tell Lyka... no... I'm too lazy.
I went back to my room and closed my eyes. I tried to feel my power but it was useless.
It was power but where was it coming from? I didn't feel a 'connection' at all.
I banged my head against the wall behind me.
Maybe I should go sit on my roof.
I flew out of my window and onto my roof.
I closed my eyes again.
Was that something? I felt something.
It was like this pulse of power.
It was beating from the east. I inhaled a sharp gasp of air and my eyes snapped open.
I transformed into my full dragon and launched myself into the air, ignoring the pain in my wings.
I steadied myself in the air and flew steadily towards where I sensed the power.
I flew and flew, my wings punishing me with nearly excruciating pain.
I had no idea where I was.
All I knew was that this power was strong.
I could almost hear it and then I was gone.
I blinked.
I was surrounded by what seemed to be the very essence of the sky.
Where am i?
