A Light in the Shadows.

A Field of Flowers

We both tumbled, rolling down a hill. Jelequi tightly clutched onto me. We soon rolled into a large flower field.

Jelequi had her eyes shut tightly, her face scrunched up adorably, still holding onto me. She was laying on top of me.

I may or may not have been holding on almost as tightly but quickly realized where I was.

Jelequi opened her eyes, noticing that she was on me. She quickly got off, covering her face in embarrassment.

I layed there for a second longer, groaning "ow" continuously, because I seemed to be bruised in quite a few places.

"Are you alright?" Jelequi asked, still covering her face.

"Yep, better than ever" I groaned. Jelequi got up quickly, reaching her hand out to help me up. "Thanks" I said, embarrassed.

Jelequi giggled in embarrassment. "I think that's a clumsiness record for me" I told her.

Jelequi looked around at the surrounding flower field.

"Woah..."

Spread out us was a field of the most beautiful flowers and plants, pixies fluttered around lightly landing on flowers occasionally.

"Well we found the flowers you were looking for" I said.

"Mhm. Sparkled stems grow near flowers, so there should be some here." Jelequi mentioned, kneeling down to look closer for the sparkled stems.

"Was that the last thing on your list?" I questioned.

"No, I still need to find the crystal mint leaves." Jelequi said.

She picked some sparkled stems from beneath the flowers. "I think I saw a patch not too far from here. If you want I could fly us there" I said "F-fly? I can walk there!" Jelequi nervously said.

I giggled. Why would that make her so nervous?

"okay, it was just an offer," I told her.

"Alright, well I'll just walk. I think I noticed some of the crystal mint leaves near the roots of a tree. But.. where are we?" she asked

"Good question," I told her. "I might be able to find my way back. Let's see.." Jelequi said, looking down at her own belt, which had five potions tied there.

"Ok." I said. "I have to get going..." I desperately wanted to stay, but I had responsibilities.

"Oh, alright! Well, bye. I'm not sure if we'll ever meet again.."

I don't know why that made me so sad. I decided to say "well you're rid of me now" and smile.

"It was nice meeting you. Uh, here!" Jelequi said, enlarging a flower from the field, picking, and handing it to me.

I accepted it, knowing I would always keep it. I smiled more genuinely this time.

"I don't know what to give you... here" I said, but after thinking for a second I reached toward the sky and collected a tiny bit of lightning and fused it with a flower, which now glowed.

"Woah.. Uh, thank you!" Jelequi held the flower close to her chest.

"Thank you," I replied. Wishing I could figure out what I was feeling.

Jelequi smiled toward me, lighting up the glade with her smile. I transformed into my half dragon form and lifted into the air, gliding up into the sky. Jelequi waved a little. I waved back before she disappeared behind a curtain of trees.
