A Light in the Shadows.

I finally know.

In the morning, I woke up.

 Jelequi was sitting up in bed, clearly awake.

"Ugh, I had the weirdest dream last night," I complained.

"Oh, what was it about..?" Jelequi asked. "There were... these green blobs but for some reason we were floating around in the middle of the ocean but then for some reason they loved pineapples..."

 "That is weird." Jelequi replied. "Well if we need proof that my subconscious needs help now we have it." I replied, grinning.

Jelequi laughed slightly, "I guess so!"

 "anyway..." I said. "What is it?"

 "nothing, just want to stop talking about the abomination that is my subconscious."

 "Alright." Jelequi said, smiling at me. "I have to go tell our kingdom about my theory. At least the very small percent that'll believe me."

"Oh, oki... So you have to go?" Jelequi asked. "Yeah..." Jelequi got up, giving me a hug that made me want to stay forever. I hugged her back, my cheeks going slightly pink... why does she do this to me? before pulling away and, being me, and being the lazy dragon I was, flew out the window instead of going downstairs.

Jelequi waved as I left.

 I smiled back.

When I flew I realized just how painful flying would be for the next few days.

 I pretty much just chanted ow silently the whole way back.

 I went to Lyka first because she knew first hand what these dragons were like.

When I finished the story she looked shell shocked, but not skeptical. "Didn't you say there was a song too?" she asked "yes!" I said back, "I believe it holds the key to everything." I told her the lyrics and then explained.

"The line 'the moon will rise when heroes fail' means the dragon and the elf. Once they fail and the world gets destroyed the moon rises once again, and the rest of it 'into the darkness worlds must fall' just proves me right. 'The path of truth hidden by lies and one day forever buried by time' is a little foggier, but I think it means how legends morph and change over time and one day there wouldn't be enough of the real story left to save the world again... i think. 'When worlds succumb to chaos's force, find lock and key in sky and earth' means when the evil comes to us then we need to find the a key in the sky and the place to stop the chaos in the earth that's assumingly only unlocked by the key in the sky. 'if hero's stop the chaos's rise, what is the sacrifice that's forced?' obviously means there's some sort of sacrifice the heroes have to make." i said.

 "Wow, detective Seraphina right here for you folks," Lyka snarked.

I laughed a little and Lyka grinned right back at me.

"Well anyway, I can order troops to look through the library and see if they can find anything on Shadowstorms," Lyka told me.

"It's okay, I'll do it. I'm looking for more to read anyway, given that I've gone through almost the entire library."

 I said. "You've got to be joking," Lyka said with an incredulous face. "You've gone through almost the entire library!?"

 "yeah, what'll I do when i'm an old dragon with nothing to do but bother my grand kids about how to rule the kingdom correctly." I joked.

 "Well anyway, Seraphina, I guess I should be going..." Lyka said "wait, Lyka" I said "can I ask you something personal?"

"Sure," she said. "Well, you're hot so you've probably had dating experience, right?"

 "yeah, do you have a thing for someone!?" she demanded "i need to hear all about it" she rubbed her hands together and cackled wickedly, making me doubt my choices in life.

"That's the thing... i dont know" I said.

"Ah, we're back to the sixth grade confusion" she said, nodding. "Also, when you said i was hot i thought this conversation was going to go somewhere a whole lot different." she said.

"Anyway," she interrupted herself "you know because thay make you happy and do weird things to your feelings and make you think stupid thoughts.'' I blinked.

So, i finally know.

"You literally described everything..." I said. "Well, tell me who is this special someone?" "Someone i really shouldn't like"

 "some poor dragon somewhere?" Lyka asked. "If i tell you, first you can't tell anyone, and second you can't judge"

"feelings are feelings..." Lyka said. "Well it's this elf girl." i said she looked surprised for a second before saying, "can i tell you a secret, since, apparently, we're going into illegal secrets?"

"Of course"

"I live with lightning elves" my eyes widened "so that's your legendary hideout" i said. "The only other reason to keep it secret would be lovesick boys" Lyka said, rolling her eyes. "That's one thing i like about you" i said "you don't deny that you're hot but you don't seem to seriously think that you're better than people.

 I mean you seem like the type to joke about it, but not actually think that."

 "thanks"

 "well, now that i've sufficiently humiliated myself i have no reason to keep you to myself" i said. "Alright" she said, and walked out the door.

Well then.

Is it weird I sat there for about half an hour staring at space? After that I immediately went to the library to distract myself.

Then I realized I would have to go through the entire library looking for history books, lore, and information about prime sources.

 I began the mind numbing process.
