I was sad but I had things to check up on.
I got back to the palace and took off the clothes and washed off the makeup from the night before.
I thought of the kiss again.
I just wish it could have been genuine... I thought of the beautiful girl who was my friend.
What were the odds of meeting her?
She was almost too good to be true.
As I got to my room I knocked on the door of Melina's room.
"Hi Melina" I said "Seraphina!" she cried hugging me with a soft smile on her face.
"Can I come in?" I asked her.
"Okay" she replied.
"You look a little better..?" I asked.
"Yes, I am better." she said.
"I saw you had a library and reading has always helped me."
"What kind of books?" I asked , smiling "fantasy" she replied promptly.
"Really? same!" I said, grinning at her.
She smiled shyly back.
"What's your favorite hobby?" I asked her randomly.
"Oh, that's a hard one.." she said.
"I love art, but I also love writing."
"oh yeah, what kind of writing?" I asked her.
"Fantasy, of course!" she said, grinning more.
"Cool" I said.
"Do you want me to bring you writing or art supplies?" I asked her.
She nodded, saying "yes please." when I was getting up she grabbed my wrist.
"Can you maybe stay a little longer?" she asked, her soft teal eyes pleading.
"Okay" I said.
"Thanks." she said.
I nodded simply, a comfortable silence enveloping us.
After a while I asked "so, what are some things about you?"
"Well, I love animals. Absolutely any type." she began.
"When I was younger I would bring home animals in hopes that we could keep them as pets, but my parents always told me to release them."
"Aww, that's sweet," I said.
"What's your favorite?" I asked.
"Well, there's these weasels, but they live in the sky because they have sky magic, and burrow in the clouds instead of the earth. I believe they're called sky ferrets."
"cool.." I said, feeling a weird desire to see the sky ferrets.
"Um.. can you show me?" I asked.
"Okay" she said.
"We can just exit out the window," I said, getting up and holding out my hand to help her get up.
She took it and I climbed out the window and let myself fall, relishing the wind brushing my face before turning into my dragon form, catching an updraft and soaring upwards.
I saw Melina behind me.
I stopped for a second because of how beautiful her dragon form really was.
