Jelequi got up, looking around to see if the boy from earlier was in view.
"Probably earth legends and ancient history." I suggested.
"Yeah." Jelequi said, "I don't know the library the best, so I think it's best if I get Sir to help us." Jelequi took my hand, headed back over to the front of the library, finding the boy sorting books. "Hi, Sir," I said politely.
He turned to look over to us, "Hello, Miss, and Seraphina."
"Sir, we are looking for earth legends and ancient history books. Do you know where we could find them?" Jelequi asked him.
Sir nodded, leading us into a different part of the library.
"This is all so new for me, these elvin books" I commented.
"That is the case when other species come to elven libraries." Sir said, "I actually recently had a nymph come into my library. I was confused myself, since.. Well, I'll not say."
"You elves aren't on the best terms with the nymphs?" I asked. "I personally don't know a lot about it, but the nearby nymphs and elves are not friendly with each other." Sir said, bringing us through the bookshelves, into the earth legends section,
"well, we're at the earth legends section."
"Well, dragons aren't on the best terms with elves yet here I am with Jelequi."
"Oh, so you're a dragon. Miss, are dragons not on good terms with elves here?" He asked Jelequi.
"Well, they don't really fight anymore, but we are taught to fear dragons, and dragons kinda think elves are weak, so no they aren't." Jelequi explained to him.
"In the north, where I'm from, dragons and elves live in towns together." Sir explained.
I looked at Jelequi wistfully then said "that would be the moon and star dragons?" Sir nodded, "it is mainly the moon and star dragons.
I am actually a moon elf, so I had lots to talk about with the moon dragons." Sir informed me.
I nodded. "I wish it was like that here... actually I guess I could ask the elf ruler, but it wouldn't go down well with either her or the dragons or elves." Jelequi nodded.
"Well, do you need any specific books?" Sir asked. "Not particularly." I replied.
"Alright. If you need any help, call me over." He said, before walking off.
"Well, should we start looking?" Jelequi asked. "Okay" I said. Jelequi began looking at the books at the bottom of the shelves. "I'll take the top part?" I asked.
Jelequi nodded, "I have no way to reach it, without the ladder, but I'd prefer not to do that.." I nodded, and flew up, looking for books.
We both began looking over the books, looking to find anything helpful.
I looked through quite a few books then saw one. "I think I found something promising," I said.
"Ancient earth civilizations"
"Does sound promising. I didn't find anything very useful. Mainly just something about the earth elves." Jelequi replied. "Oh yeah. Let's see..." I flew down to Jelequi and opened the book.
Jelequi leaned her head on my shoulder, to be able to see the pages well.
Despite the fact that she did it to see better, my heart fluttered.
I glanced at her beautiful face before reading; The ancient earth civilizations are some of the most fascinating places to study...
"Let's look at the table of contents" I said, skipping the short front part.
Table of contents...
Jelequi read along with me, hoping to find something. "Look! Places of legends." I said, skipping there.
Civilizations from legends. There are a lot of both draconic and elvin legends that consist of earth cities. Some of the most common are...
I looked down the page and saw the song.
I flipped to that page.
The constant question: is this mysterious place of earth real? "This could be what we're looking for without you having to go to an earth source..." I said.
According to what I have discovered, there was once a great civilization that held the door this song was referencing.
Unfortunately, I have no idea where it actually is.
If you want to find out you can look in books by... "I was hoping it would tell us," I said. "Should we look at the other book authors that it suggests?" Jelequi asked.
"Well, if the author already knew about these books they're probably useless." Jelequi nodded, "I guess. Well, will we have to look to get answers ourselves?"
"yeah... we would be here for days if we searched the whole library."
"Yeah... I think it's getting late now. Should we head back now?"
"yeah." Jelequi hugged me, "You should put the book back, since we don't really need it." "okay." I said, leaning into the hug, not moving away. I never wanted this to end.
I felt safe in Jelequi's arms, which was ridiculous because its usually me protecting her.
Jelequi let go of me, to let me put the book back.
I put it back, and flew down again, turning human.
Jelequi grabbed my hand, and headed out of the library, Jelequi saying bye to Sir on the way out. "Bye!" we headed back to the shop,
