I just wanted to be with Jelequi.
I began flying out towards the light of the city.
Through the darkness, I could see two people in the forest.
One was the ghost-like figure that I recognized as Xentri, and another who was wearing a slightly more colorful outfit.
I looked down, debating with myself, but decided the other figure was her dad and I would get her in trouble if I went down there and eventually flew on towards the city.
I saw Jelequi in her semi-regular spot by the window and flew down to her.
The window was open, like sometimes, so I was able to get in. "Jelequi!" I said.
Jelequi looked to the window, "Seraphina! You came again!" Jelequi got up, "Come in, the window should be open enough for you to enter."
"okay." I wiggled in as always and then hugged Jelequi.
Jelequi hugged back, leaning her head on my shoulder. "How was your day..?" Jelequi quietly asked. "So- so. Not really eventful... you?"
"It was normal. Just a simple day in the shop." I said. "yeah. I keep having different nightmares and kind of worse than usual, so I can't sleep anymore" i said.
"Oh... That sucks..." Jelequi hugged me closer, "Do you just want to hang out tonight?"
"mhm" I said, leaning my head on Jelequi's shoulder.
Jelequi brought me over to her bed, so we could sit down.
"I know you don't like standing in your human form..." Jelequi said quietly.
I smiled at her.
"Yeah." Jelequi smiled back softly, closing her eyes. "Sorry I rushed out of here this morning." I mumbled, resting her head on Jelequi's shoulder.
"It's fine..." Jelequi mumbled.
"I felt like kind of a jerk..." I mentioned.
"Oh, it didn't bother me too much... I understand that you are busy with being the queen, and all that stuff."
"mhm" I said, closing my eyes.
Jelequi hummed quietly, holding me close.
I don't deserve her.
We sat there for a while. Jelequi looked to me, "Do you want to read.?"
"okay." I said, grabbing a book I had brought from my dragon library out of my little bag.
Jelequi picked up one of the books from the pile, opening it.
We read late into the night.
The moon was peering beautifully through the window, giving us a comforting light.
I thought of Jelequi, and how she was sitting peacefully next to me, just being my friend.
And for now, that was just fine.
I stared at the moon, a small blush on my cheeks.
Jelequi leaned into me, and I saw her smile mirrored my own internal one.
Her side pressed against mine made me want to stay with her forever.
Run away and just be normal.
With her.
"The moon is beautiful..." she said. "it is..." I agreed, absentmindedly putting my arms around Jelequi.
Jelequi smiled, a slight pink over her cheeks.
She looked back to her book, my arms still around her, as I looked back at my own book, my face flushed a light pink I don't think Jelequi saw.
We both read for a very long time, in not too long we could see the sun starting to rise.
At that point I went to sleep, my head resting on Jelequi's, feeling safe from my dreams with her.
I woke up slowly, realizing I had Jelequi sleeping on my shoulder.
I smiled, pink coating my cheeks.
Jelequi was breathing quietly, still asleep.
I got out the book I was reading the night before and started to read.
Soon enough, Jelequi shifted, beginning to wake up.
She yawned cutely, rubbing her eyes. I smiled. "Good morning.." Jelequi mumbled. "Good morning," I said softly.
Jelequi sat up, looking at me.
Jelequi realized that she had fallen asleep on me, her cheeks going pink, "Sorry for falling asleep on you..." I wanted to tell her that her comforting presence was the only thing between me and my nightmares but i didn't.
I'm to obvious about the fact that I'm in love with her already.
