I woke up panting from the nightmare, too scared to scream.

Ever since then I haven't loved anyone.

I know you're all saying "but what about Astra?" Astra's different. "How?" Because I already loved them before my parents died.

But now... now there's Jelequi. And I know you're all thinking ooh! She's in love. But no! I mean I love her as a friend! Am I not allowed to do that?

Now that i say that i should probably figure out what I feel about her.

I mean i'm a lesbian, she's cute and kind of hot, but have a crush on her?

Honestly I don't know.

Besides, I would never compromise our friendship.

I finally found a friend. But that also means a commitment of protecting her always, and she makes that hard because she's an elf and i can't always be her bodyuard, which is very much distressing, because she keeps getting bullied by THAT STUPID GANG and i will kill them... wait, that's what she asked me not to do.

I saw Jelequi still fast asleep, but I heard what sounded like footsteps walking towards Jelequi's room door.

my eyes narrowed, waiting.

What if it was those gang members trying to murder her in her sleep? The door soon flung open.

"Get up sleepy head, your shop is opening! You are late!" Amharic chripped, waking up Jelequi. "What the heck, Amharic..." Jelequi mumbled.

I realized I had been staring at her beautiful face. Wait. what? Amharic saw me, "Jelequi, did you kidnap a dragon!?" Amharic jumped to conclusions.

"Amharic, of course I didn't. Seraphina visited me." Jelequi sat up in bed.

"Oh. That makes more sense!" Amharic replied, "Hi Seraphina!" "hi Amharic" I said distractedly, because I was still thinking about my dream.

"Jelequi, there are at least two customers waiting outside the shop for it to open." Amharic told Jelequi.

"What!?" Jelequi said, almost yelling, hopping out of bed.

I got up, turning into my half dragon form. "I guess I should go, but Jelequi, one more thing." Jelequi turned to me, "what is it?" I hugged her "tell me if that man from that gang bothers you again" I whispered.

"Uh.. H-he came into my shop yesterday, and asked for a lot of money..." Jelequi whispered, hugging me back.

"Ok, is it okay if I stay a little longer?" I asked. She could have montoned this sooner! "Yeah, but don't you have to go.

Wouldn't there be more things with the dragon leaders?" "no, today's a break, tonight we have a ball and tomorrow we'll finish up whatever else we need to.

Besides, your prob- you're more important" I said fumbling with my words and looking at Amharic.

He probably didn't know. "Alright, if you say so. Amharic, can you lead Seraphina to the shop while I get ready! Please also try to sell something to the customers. And don't scare them off, Amharic."

"Why would I scare them off!?" "Yelling, crazy movements, things like that." "Whatever!" Amharic said, "Let's get going then, Seraphina! Down to the shop!" "Okay, Amharic" I said, smiling slightly at his personality.

Amharic led me out of Jelequi's room, down some stairs, past an old looking kitchen, and a living room of wooden furniture.

we opened a door into a room with different crystals, plants, powders, and potions.
