When I got back I visited the ballroom first.
It was so beautiful, with crystal chandeliers and tables scattered around the room with a part of the room reserved for dancing, with a mixed crystal floor.
The most talented fire dragons set up a rainbow fire spell that bathed the room in soft colors, and the plant dragons strung up the room with exotic and heavily perfumed flowers.
It was about 3:00 in the afternoon and I just wanted the night to be over. Then I groaned. People would ask me to dance. I headed up to my room, to pick out what to wear.
I eventually settled on a long dress that was black with silver linings. Makeup.... Eyeliner, mascara, blue eyeshadow... so on.
* * *
I put on the dress, it was sunset, the sky aglow with color.
It was going to be a cold clear night, which was good, because some dragons would be going for two-in-the-morning flys.
The moon was poking out from behind the snow capped mountains, and the forest was aglow with the earth's dragons lights.
In the distance were glimmers of the elf city's lights. It was the most beautiful spot a queen could hope for.
I changed into my ball gown, sighing happily at the feel of the silky fabric on my skin. I applied makeup because this didn't happen very often and I am the queen of dragons.
I ran a brush through my hair and braided it in a half up. I've really gotten good at braiding hair, because sometimes Astra begs me to braid their hair in short spikes that look adorable.
Anyway.
I waited for probably half an hour reading, because I was supposed to be stylishly late or something.
I dunno.
So, I finally made my way down dreading this.
I'm not a social person, ok? When I got there I heard the music.
Every year, there would be singers that were called in, and they sang draconic tunes. They were anything from upbeat to haunting, and dragons came in with instruments as well.
It would have been the most beautiful thing I have ever heard, but all I can think of when they sing is my mom.
All dragons were taught to dance at a very young age, and recognized common song and dance to them. As I walked in they were playing one of my favorite songs.
It was a common fast paced tune.
I loved dancing to it, so I looked around for someone to invite me to dance.
I got my wish, as a dashing woman came up to me and held out her hand.
I happily accepted and we twirled and laughed.
At the end I was breathless and I smiled at her.
She grinned back at me. I probably made her day by dancing. I knew I was in high demand and people loved to brag they'd danced with me.
The next song came on and it was more of a slow tune so I skipped out.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore dancing, but I couldn't stand slow songs, mostly because, well, one you were barely doing anything, and two, you had to get all close to a stranger.
After this there was another song, and it went along the lines of wannabe inspiring songs. Anyway, a hot female came up to me.
She had short, uneven, spiky black hair, bright purple eyes, pale skin, and a devilish smile. Like someone who knew just how hot they were.
