Delilah
Theya came into my room earlier, and told me Silas is coming over today. I know seeing him will put Esme in good spirits. She's very confused about her feelings for him, but personally, I think her mind is already made up. I just hope she realizes them sooner rather than later.
My legs dangle from the kitchen counter I'm seated on, when out of nowhere I see someone walking in the backyard. I cease all movement in hopes of the person not seeing me, but then I hear a knock on the back door.
I jump out of fright, and place a hand over my heart to calm myself down. Grabbing the ipad lying on the counter beside me, I immediately log into the camera app in hopes to see who is out there.
By the time I log on and tap on the camera facing in the backyard, whoever that person was is gone. Sliding off the counter, my hand goes to my small belly, and I grab a knife from out the drawer. I take cautious steps to the door, and when I open it, I'm met with nothing.
What the hell?
I don't bother saying 'hello' seeing as when the characters in the horror movies say that, they always die. Shaking my head to myself, a red box on the ground catches my eye, and my breath catches in my throat.
Hurriedly, I pick up the box, go back inside, and lock the door. I sit it on the stool near the door, and my heart falls to my ass when I see Theya standing in front of me. She looked confused as to what I was doing, but she still scared me.
"Whatcha doing?" Thankfully, the island sits out far enough for it to block the view of the box from where she's standing.
I run a hand through my hair, and release a deep breath. I want to give her the real answer, but if I'm not worried, she shouldn't be either.
"Yes, I'm alright."
She shrugs her shoulders and moises her way back to the living room. I wait for her to turn the corner into the living room, before swiping the box off the stool. As I slowly open it, the thought that a bomb could be in here crosses my mind, but then I realize, there are easier and faster ways to kill people. Plus I'm not that important.
A huff escapes me when the only thing in the box is a phone. Picking it up, the screen lights up, and I jump in fright.
For goodness sake.
A text message pops up on the screen, and when I swipe up, there is no password. For some reason, this is starting to feel very spine- chilling.
Unknown: Miss Eloris, I would like you to walk into the living room.
What the hell? How does this person know that I'm not in the living room?
I stare at the screen for a solid minute, just trying to digest the fact that someone knows where I am in this house.
