Chapter 17: The Wrong Path

(Two Days Later)

So, it's been two days since the Green Goblin offered me to be his partner. He hasn't shown up since then which is probably worse than it sounds like.

I've also recently noticed that maybe he was right as the public doesn't see me as the real Spider-Man.

Anyways right now, I'm walking with Natasha as she is taking me out for lunch.

Natasha: Hey, are you all right?

I sigh.

Natasha then stops and stands in front of me.

Natasha: What's wrong?

I look over and see a newspaper on a bench so I walk over and grab it and I show it to her.

Natasha: Y/N, this article doesn't mean anything.

Y/N: They think I'm a fraud, Natasha. They think I don't deserve to wear the suit.

Natasha: Hey, Peter chose you because he believed you were worthy. Don't let what green goblin said to affect you, he's a crazy psycho.

Y/N: I know.

Natasha: Now, get all this talk about Spider-Man out of your head. We have a lunch date.

I smile and then I follow her inside of the diner where we talk and just have lunch.

Natasha: So, you never told me about your friend Holland.

Y/N: She went to live with some family relatives.

Natasha: I'm sorry.

Y/N: No. It's all right. She was all alone for so long, I'm glad that she has people who look out for her now.

Natasha: And you now have the avengers.

I laugh at this.

Natasha: Now hey...what do you say we go back to the tower and watch a movie.

Y/N: I'd like that.

Then Natasha and I stand up.

Then my spider sense goes off.

Natasha: Is something wrong?

Y/N: Yeah.

Natasha and I then go outside where we see a fire truck and there was a building on fire.

Natasha then looks at me.

Natasha: Go.

I nod and then I run and turn in the alley and luckily I was wearing my suit underneath my clothes and I rip my jacket and pants off then I put my mask on.

I then start wall crawling and I jump over a ledge and crawl up the wall more and then I reach the top and then I run and dive off the roof and I start web swinging.

Then I make it to where the fire is and I go inside and I save a little girl and then I jump out and land on the ground and then I give the little girl to her mother.

Then I hear screaming coming from the building and then I jump and web swing and go back inside.

Y/N: Hello.

???: Help me!

Y/N: Where are you?

I start walking inside.

???: Please! Help me!

Y/N: Where are you?

Then I see someone with a blanket over them and I walk closer.

Y/N: Your safe. I'm gonna get you out of here.

I walk closer and put my hand on the persons shoulder but then the person turned around revealing the green goblin and he punched me which sent me flying across the room and I crash to the ground.

Goblin: Your pathetically predicable. Just like the one who came before you. A moth to the flame.

I got up to my knees.

Goblin: What about my generous proposal? Are you in or you out?

Y/N: It's you who's out, goblin. Out of your mind.

Then he threw what looked like razors at me and I dodged all of them.

He then punched me a few times and then I block his other punch and then I punch him and then the razor bats came back at me and one of them got my arm.

Y/N: Ah!!

Then another one came at me and I bend backwards before it can get me and when I get back up goblin was gone.

(One Hour Later)

So, I'm now back at the avengers tower and I've just explained to Steve and Natasha what happened with goblin.

Natasha: Are you sure you're okay?

Y/N: Yeah.

Then I grab my arm.

Steve: What's wrong?

Y/N: Oh uh one of his razors got me in my arm.

Natasha: Let me see.

I roll up my sleeve which reveals along cut on my forearm and it was bloody.

Natasha: Oh my...Y/N. We need to get that cleaned up.

Y/N: It's fine.

Natasha: No, it's not. I shouldn't have let you go in. Stay here.

Then Natasha gets up and she goes into the other room.

Steve: Don't mind, Natasha. She's just very protective.

Y/N: Yeah, she reminds me of my mom.

Steve: Really?

Y/N: Yeah, Is it weird that I forget what she looks like every day?

Steve: There are so many people you will meet in life and there will be many that you will forget, but parents, they are the ones you will never forget.

Y/N: Really?

Steve: Yeah.

Y/N: Thanks.

Steve: Your welcome.

Then Natasha comes back into the room and Steve leaves and then Natasha cleans my wound and she wraps it up and after she was done we then watched a movie.

(Several Hours Later)

So, I've just woken up because Natasha and I fell asleep during the movie and I sit up and rub my eyes.

I stand up and see Natasha was asleep so I cover her up with a blanket.

I then walk into the snacking area and I get a bottled water then my spider sense goes off.

Y/N: Huh?

I start walking and I look at the window and then suddenly I see and hear a big explosion which knocks me down on the ground.

I look behind me and see that Natasha was still asleep.

I then get up and put my suit on and I jump out the window and start web swinging towards the explosion.

I just hope that no one is hurt.
