(Washington D.C)
Y/N's POV
So, we are now back in D.C and Steve and I immediately go to Fury's office to talk about what happened with Natasha.
We go into his office and we see that Fury is sitting at his desk.
Steve: You just can't stop yourself from lying, can you?
Nick: I didn't lie.
Steve and I walk towards Fury's desk.
Nick: Agent Ramonoff had a different mission than yours.
Y/N: Which you obliged to share.
Nick: I'm not obliged to share anything, kid.
Steve: Those hostages could have died, Nick.
Nick: I sent the greatest soldier in history with the second and new Spider-Man to make sure that didn't happen.
Steve: Soldiers trust each other. That's what makes it an army. Not a bunch of guys running around shooting guns.
Nick stood up from his chair and leaned over the table.
Nick: Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye. Look I didn't want you doing anything you weren't comfortable with. Agent Ramonoff is comfortable with everything.
Steve: I can't lead a mission when the people I'm leading have a mission of their own.
Nick: It's called compartmentalization. Nobody spills secrets, because nobody knows them all.
Steve: Except you, right?
Nick: Your both wrong about me. I do share. I'm nice like that.
Y/N: Then prove it.
Then Fury leads us down in to the insight bay and we see three helicarriers.
Y/N: Wow.
Nick: This is project insight. Three next generation helicarriers synced to a network of targeting satellites.
Steve: Launched from the Lemurian Star.
Nick: When we get them in the air, they never have to come back down again.
Steve: Stark?
Nick: He had a few suggestions once he got an up-close look at our old turbines. These new long-range precision guns can eliminate 1,000 hostile a minute. The satellites can read a terrorists DNA before he steps outside his spider hole. We're gonna neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen.
Y/N: I thought the punishment usually came after the crime.
Nick: We can't afford to wait that long, kid.
Steve: Who's "We"?
Nick: After, New York, I convinced the World Security Council we needed a quantum surge in threat analysis. For once we're way ahead of the curve.
Steve: By holding a gun to everyone on earth and calling it protection.
Nick turns to Steve.
Nick: You know, I read those SSR files. "Greatest Generation"? You guys did some nasty stuff.
Steve: Yeah, we compromised. Sometimes in ways that made us not sleep well. But we did it so that people could be free.
