Chapter 88: Y/N's Recovery

(The Next Day)

Natasha's POV

So, it's been a day since Y/N sacrificed himself to save everyone and we still hadn't heard from Stephan.

I continued to sit in my chair waiting anxiously like a mother would because I was so afraid that we would lose him.

I didn't wanna lose Y/N. I didn't wanna have to save goodbye.

After a few more minutes, Stephan comes out and we all stand up.

Pietro: How is he?

Holland: Where is he?

Sam: Is he okay?

Strange: He's fine. Him using the stones caused part of his body to be seriously burned but luckily due to his super strength and the lead and gold infused within the gauntlet he was able to survive.

Steve: Is he awake?

Strange: He is. Stark.

Tony stands in front of us.

Tony: Yeah.

Strange: Your the first person he wants to see.

Tony then looks at Steve and I and we both look at each other and then nod reassuring him that it's all right.

Tony's POV

After Strange tells me Y/N wants to see me first I then go to his room.

I open the door and I knock and he turns over and looks at me.

Y/N: Hey...

Tony: Hey buddy. How we doing?

I go over and put my hand on his shoulder.

Y/N: Well I've been through worse.

I then sit down and looking at Y/N, I realize something.

Tony: It was me, wasn't it?

Y/N: Huh?

Tony: The other version, it was me.

Y/N: Tony, I'm sorry.

Tony: For what?

Y/N: Germany.

Tony: Kid, that was years ago.

Y/N: Just let me finish okay.

I nod to him.

Y/N: When we first met, you didn't like me. You hated the idea of another Spider-Man. At the beginning I didn't understand why you were so hard on me. I just thought you were doing it because you were a dick.

I chuckle at this.

Y/N: But I realize it's because of Peter. I finally realize that you wanted to honor Peters legacy not by having another Spider-Man but by having him be remembered as the only Spider-Man.

Y/N sighs.

Y/N: I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I'm sorry about what I said in Germany.

Tony: Kid, I wasn't exactly bright with you. If anyone should be apologizing it's me.

Y/N: I was ready to go.

Tony: What do you mean?

Y/N: After I used the stones I was ready to die. I didn't want to hold on. I wanted to die.

Tony: Kid...

Y/N: How am I gonna get over this? How am I gonna move on from Wanda? I tried, I tried to bring her back but it didn't work.

Y/N then starts to cry.

Tony; Hey, hey, look at me.

Y/N looks at me.

Tony: You will get through this. You will find a way.

Y/N nods.

Tony: Now what do you say, we make an arm brace so you can move that arm of yours.

Y/N chuckles.

Tony: Oh and hey. Never do that again. You scared all of us half to death.

(Two weeks later)

Y/N's POV

So, it's been two weeks since Strange saved my life and my recovery has been going nice and Tony even made me an arm brace that is like Rhodey leg braces so I can move my arm.

Though it has been hard getting my arm to work but I gotta say it's better than expected.

Doctor Strange also says that after a while I should be able to move my arm on my own.

Anyways, right now we are all out in the field of Wakanda and we are having a funeral service for Wanda.

Steve then goes and stands in front of all of us.

Steve: Wanda was...is a great person. She was serious and funny and most of all she was one of us. I didn't get to tell her how valuable she was to this team. But I know wherever she is, she's looking down at us happy. I'm gonna miss you Wanda.

Then as everyone else said there speeches about Wanda. It was finally my turn.

Natasha: Y/N, it's your turn.

I go and stand in front of everyone.

Y/N: Wan...Wanda...She...I made her promise. I promised her I'd catch her if she ever fell. I broke that promise. I couldn't catch her. She wanted me to break it. Wanda was the real hero. Is the real hero. I'm gonna miss her everyday. I don't know how I'm gonna move on from this.

(Ten minutes later)

I'm standing over Wanda's grave when Pietro comes and stands next to me.

Y/N: I'm sorry, Pietro.

Pietro: For what?

Y/N: Losing her. Not being able to save her. I should've been able to save her.

Pietro: Y/N, hey. This isn't your fault alright? I don't blame you for what happened. I would never blame you.

Y/N: I failed to save her.

Pietro: Hey...Wanda gave her life for that stone. She's a hero. I'm gonna miss her every single day but at least I know she gave her a life to save billions.

Y/N: I tried to bring her back.

Pietro: What?

Y/N: Wanda. I tried bring her back but it didn't work.

Pietro: I really am gonna miss her.

Y/N: So will I.

I then touch the tombstone as I then walk away.
