Vivienne and Lynn stared and their eyes devoured everything and anything on sight as Jesper lead them to the rest of the crows, Daphne tailing behind lazily.

"I actually pity taking you two to Kaz." Jesper said, casually fixing his hair as he chewed on a toothpick. Frowned, when he got no reply.

He turned around to see only Daphne who shrugged, gesturing at a store a few blocks behind them.

It was another store, owned by grishas and the two girls stood in front of it in awe. Lynn pointing excitedly at one book which was turning its pages on it own and pulling on vivi's sweater. While Vivi just stood there mouth wide open like a statue.

Daphne looked at them in concern, while jesper had an expression quite similar to a mother-like disapproving look.

"Oh saints." Jesper sighed, as he rolled his eyes and jogged towards them, Daphne followed.

"I still think we are on crack" Vivi whispered, looking at the book which was now heaving up and down as though it were sleeping.

"I think Mrs.Grey murdered us and this is heaven." Lynn's muffled voice replied, she now had her face literally squished on the display mirror trying to get a better look at the sleeping book.

"Are you two done?" Jesper said impatiently.

"And I still can't fucking tell if this dude's a fake or not." Vivi whispered again, monotonously.

"Hey, what do you mean by that!" Jesper shouted, pouting for a second then stopped when he heard Daphne snort, "And why are you whispering?"

"I don't know." Vivi whispered.

"She doesn't know." Lynn repeated, loudly.

"So we heard." Daphne commented, earning a short glare from Lynn.

"Do you wanna get shot again?" Jesper asked, hands over his hip looking an awful lot like the girl's headmistress.

That seemed to break Vivi out of her trance, as she grazed her fingertips to the light scar on her left cheek and quickly said, "No!"

"Well then hurry along or we might bump into the ravkans again." said Jesper, as he suddenly linked his arms with Lynn and Vivi's and dragged them with him.

"Ayo, do you mind? I am not comfortable with physical touch, You-so-called Jesper fahey who looks crazy similar to the fanarts." Vivi said, ignoring the peculiar terms she used Jesper simply looked at her and stuck his tongue out.

"Mans is getting comfortable I see." Lynn muttered, as the zemeni pulled the two even harder through the odd crowd of the ketterdam streets.

"Anyway, Jesper." Lynn started, looking back at Daphne who was right behind them. Daphne caught Lynn staring and winked. Lynn flipped him off, "I don't like our company with this Daphne bloke."

"I can hear you, you know." Daphne said calmly.

"I don't care." Lynn shot back.

"You are the one to complain. When I am here with you two who know everything about me and are acting like infants who just discovered about grishas." Jesper said, Vivi opened her mouth to speak but Jesper beat her to it, "One thing, I am sure of is that you are absolutely not hired or working for van eck."

"Yea, well we are too fucking hot to be working for an old crusty hag." Vivi said while Lynn nodded in agreement.

"No, you two are foolish and stupid to be hired by someone like van eck" Jesper said non-chalantly.

They walked for a mile or, both in awe of the tranquility of Ketterdam. Birds chirping and Daphne wandering around and somehow still being beside them. Vivi with her lush black hair, with eager eyes, Jesper trotting and humming as usual, Lynn beside Vivi, wondering what must be going on back home

The quaint and broad streets slowly started getting more and more foul and dreary as Jesper lead them to dark alleyways and lanes.

They went from lingering around in a bustling happy street to a crooked murky lane.

"Now tell me this is the harbour" Vivi uttered.

"This is, obviously" Jesper was still cheery as usual.

The metallic stink of blood was fresh. There was a dead cat lying nearby, flies surrounding it, buzzing. The houses surrounding the lanes were old and dusty, dim lit.

Most windows were closed.

They passed by a few people, unkempt and snarly, passing them awful glares as they walked by,

"Jeez" said Lynn looking at them

"Not acting like they're vampires from twilight" Vivi said, Lynn chuckling

"Oh don't you worry, meet Kaz and all that joy will go away" Jesper snapped.

"Why is the bloke still with us" Lynn raised her eyebrows at Daphne.

"Oh your royal highness, it would be my greatest pleasure to be of your assistance, kindly grant me a position to serve you" Daphne scowled sarcastically.

"Shush, we're here" Jesper stopped at a dark and condemmed house.

"Come in, will you" The floors creaked as they walked in, the atmosphere was nothing short of dank and unpleasant.

The roofs weren't hammered in a proper manner leading to dirt and raindrops accumulating on the edges. There were cobwebs and unswept floors, dusty carpets and moss in the corners.

"So, he might be a bit infuriated, but don't worry he's nice when you get to know him, or atleast, you just get used to the snarkiness"

The four of them walked into a room, larger than the rest, with a squeaky stool at a side, a wall with maps and messy writings, bits of charcoal everywhere, and a lean gruff man wearing a hat and holding a cane.

This was definitely Kaz.

Beside him was a tall, pale figure, who had their back turned. The person was wearing long trousers and a blue buttoned shirt.

"Oh didn't see ya there, alright, meet the infamous Kaz Brekkar and....Zephyr Zionite!" Jesper walked in with a smirk.
