Vivienne felt her nerves kick in as she watched the water quickly seep in through the cracked wooden flooring of the ship room.
"Kaz." She said holding on to Lynn's hands, "get Kaz."
Lynn squeezed her hand and went out of the room quickly to get the others. Vivi scanned the room nervously. This was probably the first time she wished this was all indeed a dream. She grabbed the cloth of the small bed and stomped it on the crack, but the cloth only soaked the water for not even a minute and water started flowing again. She flinched when she heard a loud crack of the wood as the gap grew even more. Her shoes were now submerged in the water.
She heard footsteps from the stairs, as she stood there staring at the crack.
"Saints."
"Are you planning to jump through the crack inside the ocean?" Kaz shouted at her, she broke out of her stare and started backing away barely wincing when she bumped into someone's chest.
"Ouch." Lynn said from behind her, as Vivienne sent her a dazed apologetic look.
"We need to fill the crack." Jesper said as he put some more cloths on it.
He sat down on the crack himself when the clothes started to fail blocking the water.
"What the hell are you doing." Wylan shouted as he halted but then went into the water submerging his shoes and socks as he reached Jesper and made him stand, "You could've gonna fall into the ocean you daft fool, can you not see the crack growing.?"
"Can't you do something?" Cain asked looking at Zephyr, "like freeze it or something."
"I can only handle the wind."
"Yea but the other night you made a frost or something."
"That was different."
"Stop being-"
"He is not Elsa. He can't freeze the water. Now shut up." Vivienne shouted as she went after Jesper to help.
"Matthias, go with Daphne and handle the whelm" Kaz said, as Matthias nodded and went to do so.
"Zephyr, get the other small rescue boatd ready, just in case." Kaz ordered, "Cain can you go to Matthias and Daphne.
"They can manage the whelm. Can I check on Vivi instead? She seemed a little tense"
"Do as you are told." Kaz shot at him as Cain glared at him but went to the direction of the whelm.
"Zionite."
"Yea?" Zephyr responded, just as he was on the doorframe.
"Go check up on Vivienne." Kaz said nonchalantly as he stomped some more clothes into the hole with his cane.
"Would've even if you wouldn't have told me to." Zephyr said evenly as he got out of the room. Lynn had arrived again with a bucket as she collected and threw it out from the window. Kaz watched her amusedly.
"That is useless."
Lynn nevertheless didn't stop as she continued the pattern, "Atleast I am doing something. You are standing there half submerged just staring."
"Thinking."
"What?"
"I am thinking of a plan." Kaz said impatiently, "That isn't going to work. You go to the others and do something that will actually help. Go downstairs and check if there are any more cracks."
Lynn grumbled as she pushed her way in the now knee deep water. Heading for the stairs.
It was dark, the lights had gone out and Lynn had no choice but to trust her instincts. She winced at the ice cold water seeping in slowly.
The water got deeper as she walked downstairs and soon enough it was just below her face, which caused a struggle to move around. Looking at the empty cabinets, she slowly turned around and was about to head back when she heard the faintest noise of glass clashing.
Amidst all the shouting upstairs and the sound of the waves crashing against each other, one would have almost forgotten about what was going on around them.
The water level was slowly rising and the ceiling was short enough to suffocate oneself.
"Anyone there?" she yelled. There was a minute of silence until muffled screaming could be heard.
Lynn slowly swampt her way forward, her eyes wary, scanning all around.
"Time to die" Lynn sighed as she pushed her way through the waters, holding onto the handles, and following the sound.
The clouds blocking away the sun did not help, and all the lamps had been damped.
This better not be a volcra or something, better be prepared. she thought to herself as she walked, almost tripping onto a what looked like a brake handlebar
"Probably for emergencies" she murmured, pulling it out and carrying it as a weapon
The clashing of the waves was beyond overwhelming and the tiny and confined little place made her throat feel like it was closing up little by little, it was suffocating her, even as she tried taking deep breaths, holding onto her chest.
Suddenly the door behind her started banging , she jerked around, biting her lip and holding onto the handlebar tight.
Someone is inside that room.
Chills went down her spine as the lock of the door was breaking away with each bash. A few more clanks, and the door would break for good. Just as she thought this to herself, the door swung open, creaking rather loudly
She sprung forward with all her might holding the handlebar like how she remembered Matthias had taught her , only to dumbfoundedly stand infront of a soaking Daphne.
"You look like you just saw a ghost."
Lynn sighed at that, and Daphne couldn't tell if it was out of relief.
"Weren't you with Matthias in the whelm?"
"I came to check the-" he gagged loudly, the waves crashing once more "The water! It got in" he coughed repeatedly as Lynn looked at him bitterly.
"Another wave is coming" she warned, her holding on tight on the corner of the wall The wave roared in, swaying away most of their food and weapons, and really anything that was left.
Daphne grabbed onto the door handle for dear life as Lynn randomly started grinning "What?" he spat "Seeing you try not to get swayed by the waves is fun." "You do realise we both can die right now" "Yeah" she managed to hold in her laughter "Let's get going"
They both struggled their way upstairs to Cain handing ropes for the boats "Three on one!" he yelled.
"Vivi!" Vivienne waved at her back, gesturing she was alright, although Cain still went and helped her get on the boat.
"So, Zeph me and Daph is it?" Lynn looked hopefully at Zeph who was glaring at Cain
"Oh god please don't"
"In the name of the Saints Zeph-"
"I'll go with that little twat and Vivi" he replied monotonously, stomping towards the boat.
"Why are you looking at me like you will strangle me to death right now?" Daphne chuckled at Lynn who remained unfazed.
