Zephyr ran his hands through his hair, frustrated, then crossed his hands swiftly, the boat's sudden movement almost making Cain fall off.

"Hold still" He uttered, closing his eyes, he raised his hands upwards, as damp air carried them roughly, Zephyr gesturing forward with his hands.

"Why can't you do it with hot air!" Cain wailed
"Shush. It will see us."

"Hold on tight, this will be sudden" Zephyr then clasped his hands together, swiftly pushimg down, and the boat almost fell off into the water, Vivienne and Cain grabbed onto the edges but then it softly landed, the gush of air carrying them forward towards Lynn and Daphne.

Vivienne watched Lynn struggle under the huge reptile tail's grip. Lynn looked pale as she looked down at them, managing to recognise Vivi she mouthed a 'hi' , dodging a spike that nearly pierced through her.

Vivienne's anxiety was now long forgotten, all she could think of now was the sheer amount of pain she would feel if she ever lost Lynn. Without thinking, she was preparing to dive into the water.

"Oi!" Cain shouted, as he and Zephyr finally laid the passed out Daphne to their boat, "What do you think you're doing huh?"

"I don't know!" She yelled frustrated, as she closed her eyes, tears welling up, and walked towards the edge of the boat to dive only to be abruptly pulled back into the boat with a string force.

"Do you even know how to swim?" Cain asked as he glared at her, "What in the world are you thinking?"

"I am not!." Vivienne said aggressively, as she pushed away from him, "I am not thinking. I just want to save her."

"Well, you can't do anything if you fucking die first." Cain shouted at her.

"That doesn't mean I let her die!" she yelled in frustration, as Cain softened his expression.

"I know she matters to you Vivi." he said as Zephyr fanned Daphne "But going there would be planning your own death."

Lynn randomly started shouting something incoherent.

"What is she saying now?" said Cain crinkling his brows

"What?!" yelled Vivi as Lynn held a thumbs up sign "Why are you doing that you're literally being squeezed to death!"

Lynn then shouted back, much louder "Go to Fjerda!"

Vivi felt a pang in her throat, somehow managing to hold it in "I'm going to assume its the Kraken's doing" her throat felt like it was burning as she said that.

"No no just go, you'll get killed!"

"Why the fuck are you saying that?" Vivienne shouted, her fists clenched together

"Its alright, just go!" Lynn yelled at her, chuckling

"This isn't funny." Vivienne's head was throbbing horribly, it felt like something inside her was yearning to let go of.

"Go!" Lynn shouted with the little remaining energy she said, as the giant tail tightened around her body.

Vivienne bit on her tongue as she closed her eyes, upset. She was crying not because she was sad or because she was afraid. She felt furious. Furious at Kaz, for his stupid plan. Furious at Lynn thinking about how stupid she was thinking Vivi would even think of leaving her behind. Furious at herself knowing she couldn't do anything at all to save her friend who meant the world to her. She felt pathetic, pathetic at how she was so useless.

"Viv!" Lynn managed to rasp out loudly, drawing Vivi's attention back to her. Vivi couldn't even see Lynn's figure as the mist of fog grew thicker and the rain and her own tears had made her own vision blurry, "Don't forget me."

That did it. That triggered it. With shaking fists, she choked out with all her might "Shut the fuck up Lynn, how could you ever be so fucking selfish to even-"

But her anger and strength to shout was apparently not the only thing triggered. Vivienne felt a force hit her or rather pierce through her chest. She staggered on her knees as she clutched her chest expecting to see blood but there wasn't anything but her own heart beating.

The creature stopped dead on its tracks, dropping Lynn who splashed onto the water, coughing.

Vivienne felt a rather strange feeling, like a hollow pipe had just pierced through her chest, hot and burning. She slowly turned to look at Zephyr and Cain, both of their mouths agape.
A thick ripple of fire surrounded her, bright and blazing, fuming as loud as her anger she was feeling. She looked down at her hands. Her hands were not burnt by the fire, they were billowing fire itself. Her eyes glimmered at the sight before her.

Snapping back at the Kraken, she forced the flames onto it, and it shot right into the monster's chest, as it screeched and fell onto the ever deep ocean. Her hands were still shaking from what just happened, and she looked at them again to find the flames slowly rippling down, softening and morphing into her skin, the jarred and angry fire seeping into her veins. She turned towards Zephyr, he was helping Lynn get on the boat but his gaze still lingered around the burnt edges of the boat around her. Cain's bewilderment on his face did not need an explanation.

"Vivienne" Lynn's shaking voice called at her.

Vivienne seeped into Lynn's arms, and Lynn tightly hugged her back. The familiar scent of lavenders brought her comfort and warmth.

"You really went emo mode right there didn't you" Vivienne giggled
and Lynn chuckled back, patting Vivienne's head.

"Don't ever think I'm going to leave you alone like that." Vivienne mumbled.

"Now that we are over with cuddles and kisses, can we talk about what just happened?" Cain's voice quivered in disbelief.

"But that, what-" Lynn pulled back and looked at Vivienne for a minute.

What she was thinking couldn't be true. She had known Vivienne her whole life, and not once had she encountered something as overwhelming.

Vivienne herself looked back at her in confusion, her luminuos eyes glistening. Lynn felt a wallowing, strangely nostalgic feeling in her stomach, like listening to an old favourite song, and remembering the life one had when they first heard it.

The weeks in Ketterdam, had been passing as quick as one could think, and for the first time, the two came across a chilling realisation, the shock hit them like the waves gushing in the midst of the thunderstorm. They were stuck in time, with characters from the books way back in centuries.
And Vivienne Black was a Grisha.
