Lynn looked for him everywhere. In the beautifully eerie gardens that was covered with nothing but the whiteness of the snow, in ever bar near there, sticking her head out through the door and then back in a sickly manner. She ambled along the markets, searching for him. At some point, unsuccessful, she sat down on one of the chairs, feeling let down by her own self.

With disappointment all over her face, she returned to the motel, only to find him sleeping soundly in one of the rooms.

As far as she remembered, all rooms were clear when they were gone for breakfast.

"Daph." she nudged him a little, as he unresponsively snuffled.
She then reached out for his glasses in the nightstand
"I'm going to break these." she grinned.

Now frustrated, she pulled him by his shirt, trying to make him fall onto the concrete floor, to her surprise, her jerked up, looking around in an alert manner, then sighed, looking at Lynn "Morning,"

"Kaz was looking for you."
"I was sleeping."
"Yeah. Now this is the part where you tell me the truth." she said, folding her arms.

He scratched his nose, his eyes on the floor "None of your buisness"

"Whatever, just tell Kaz you're here." she narrowed her eyes, looking at him in a manner he couldn't quite decipher, and walked out as quick as she came in.

Daphne reached out for his glasses, stretching himself lazily.
He felt like each and every day of betrayal was dreadful to him, the crows themselved were like his own now, and doing this to them was torturing him every minute. His guilt building up like ivy vines, suffocating every part of himself there was.

When he was born, he was Daphne Vandensburg, Suli acrobat. He was then just Daphne, an empty vessel, a body merely used. Now he was a traitor, to his one and only companions.

He was a traitor and he was trapped, He was Daphne Vandenburg, a candle burning bright in a silver birdcage, he was anything but a boy with freedom to live.

Lynn perched on one of the mahogany chairs, where Kaz was scheming intensely, looking at the Hellgate map.

"Everything ready?" Lynn asked as Kaz nodded his head.
As someone who had reread the bookd time and again, Lynn remembered all the times Kaz had simply taken a sheer leap of faith and escaped death in the strangest of cirumstances.

She thought if her and Vivienne would be facing the luck, or whether the future they were about to face would be as gruesome and crueler than ever.

It had started snowing again, Vivienne and Cain could hear the soft thumping of the snow on the tent as they sat comfortably inside it. An inferni grisha started a fire at the fireplace with one swift move of their hand, Vivienne stared. Everything was new to her, the magic, the people ,the place and not to mention the entire universe which was convinced was solely fictional. Nothing seemed to have make sense to her for the last few sense ever since she had discovered her eerie unknown powers but being surrounded by a bunch of people who did magic and were so confident and had pride in what they could do made her feel somewhat encouraged to find out about who she really was and what was she capable of.

"How do you manage?" Vivienne asked Ruth, breaking the comfortable silence.

They all knew what Vivienne meant by that.

"Well, the scenario has been a little better than what it used to be like." Ruth said, as she watched the small grisha children play with their magic, "But not the best. They are scared of us, hence haven't attacked our spot here yet. But when they get the chance to they will. "

"But what are you all doing in a place that everyone knows is not safe for the grisha?" Cain asked as he took a bite of his, perhaps ninth or tenth cookie.

"Silly boy." Ruth sighed, rubbing her temples with her wrinkled hands and rolling her eyes dramatically, "Do you think we would put ourselves in danger for nothing? We are here to help the grishas that are stuck here and are getting tortured for their gift, their powers."

"We can help." Vivienne said immediately as an instinct but was furthermore surprised that she actually did want to help.

"We can. . ?" Cain said, eyeing Vivi.
