Chapter 2: Unexpected visitors
"Fewh, that was a close call."
"Onii chan."
Inside one of the castle's chambers, a certain redhead is currently out of breath as he sat down in his chair looking very tired. All the meanwhile, he didn't notice the presence of another person already in the room with him.
"Eh?! Nezuko?!" The redhead almost fell from his chair
"Where were you just now?" An angry Nezuko is staring down at him
"I was, I was.........."
"Don't tell me lies. I know you can't even lie properly." Nezuko crossed her arms
"Alright fine. I was out in the town today." Tanjiro admitted
"And what were you doing?"
"Doing some personal stuff?" Tanjiro spoke partially the truth so he won't be making his weird face
"You know you could get hurt right? What if something happens to you?"
"I'm fine on my own Nezuko. I can take care of myself." Tanjiro calmly tries to defuse the situations
"Its only a week away before you will probably be coronated as the next king. What if some bad guys were to injured you?" Nezuko seems to not be happy with the answers
"I still have my flare with me at all times. If anything happens, I can still call for help." Tanjiro shows her the flare he had hidden within his uniform
"But still-"
"Its getting late Nezuko. I need to take some shower and rest. Can you please not tell mother about this?" Tanjiro pleaded
"And what do I get in return?" Nezuko seems to be interested
"How about this?"
Tanjiro took out a small pouch containing some candies. Not just any candies, but a specific one that was called konpeito. Which in fact was her absolute favourite.
"Okay, deal." She quickly took the small pouch
"Thank you, Nezuko." Tanjiro smiled
"Oh and also, I heard that the royal family from the Spade Kingdom is here. Maybe you should go and meet them." Nezuko reminded him
"Okay, I will."
Nezuko left the room and close the door behind her. Tanjiro breathe a heavy sigh of relief and plopped himself onto his massive bed. He slowly close his eyes to get some shut eyes for a few hours.
"That was kinda fun. Heh."
