"Soobin you know thing's don't you?" I asked as he walked with me on his back with Niki and Yuna next to him, carrying my things on theirs.
"I may but Nabi the things I know are simply to keep you safe and protect you from the dangers in this world" He says.
"Do they know?" I asked gesturing at Niki and Yuna
Niki whines and lowers his head and his tail between his legs. Yuna growled at me.
"No they do not" He said.
"I apologies guys" I say.
"Why didn't you ever tell me the hunter had done that to you?" I asked.
"you hadn't known yet what I was when that happened. In your eyes I was a normal boy walking on two legs everyday all day" He said.
"It wasn't until after my family died that you had told me. Did they know about you?" I asked.
"They didn't only your brother had known and that was because I shifted in front of him while helping Yeonjun one day" he said.
"You have history with Yeonjun and in those photos we were all very close but how come I have no memory of him Soba? Why is he the only important person missing in my memory?" I asked.
"I'm not sure Nabi" he said.
"It sure took you long enough. Chae here was starting to get on my nerves" Yeonjun said.
Soba lays down and I dismounted from his back and took my things off of Yuna and Niki. Beomgyu and Lia help to bring my stuff inside while I stayed with Soobin.
"Nabi don't look at this as if it's goodbye because it's not. Instead I want you to live with him for a while so I can take care of the bad things targeting you. Plus I have someone to find remember? Just don't hate me okay. I want the best for your safety right now and that's with him" Soobin said holding my shoulders.
"How is dragging another normal human being into our families mess supposed to be a way of protecting me?" I asked.
He laughed and steps away. As Beomgyu goes with him.
"Bye for now Song Nabi. Take care of her hyung" he said
"Bye Nabi" Gyu says
"Oppa" I whisper walking towards him.
"Nabi" Yeonjun says pulling me back.
"The seal is now activated Nabi" Lia says.
"They can no longer see you us or this place and where ever you go it will remain active" Jake adds.
I watched as they ran off into the woods and it felt like I was once again losing my family. Yeonjun noticed my sadness and pulled me into a hug before we head inside.
"are they not coming in?" I asked
"A guardians job apparently is to keep the seal active for the first 24 hours by channeling the energy around them so that it remains standing when they leave after the 24 hours are over" He said.
"But I thought they were here to stay and protect me" I asked.
"they are but a guardian can not stay in territory that doesn't belong to them. Since they are a wolf packs guardian they can't be on this end of the woods. This territory belongs to my family" He said.
"Like private property?" I asked.
"Yeah exactly like that. They can only pop in when danger arises" He said.
"Oh okay" I say a bit unsure of everything.
"Come I'll show you your room" he said taking my hand.
We walked upstairs and I had seen a bunch of his pictures growing up. I stopped and looked upon all of them.
"It's what happens when you're an only child. My parent loved putting me on display" He said.
"What about this one the frame is empty" I said.
"Um must of got lost maybe I don't know but hey don't worry about it" He said.
"I never knew you could be so handsome Yeonjun" I teased.
"I'm handsome?" He asked.
I laughed and nod my head yes but what I didn't expect....
"OH MY GOD! Yeonjun so handsome" He said confidently.
I couldn't help but laugh at how adorable he was being. Something about it all felt very familiar to me.
"Yeonjun I'm sorry" I said.
"about what?" He asked.
"I know that we may have been close when I was younger but I don't remember you at all or who you were back than" I said. Sadness washed over his confidence and it almost made me feel bad for even saying anything about it.
"It's okay Nabi because even if you don't remember me... I remember you and the amazing person you have always been" He said.
"But doesn't that bother you" I asked.
"It does but I can't blame you on forgetting about me" He said.
"How come we didn't stay in touch after what happened to me?" I asked.
"Nabi are you feeling scared right now or confused?" He asked.
"I've been this way ever since my family died Yeonjun. I have no answers and no one who knows the truth is willing to tell me. I just don't get it at all whats the big secret anyway and why can't I know?" I asked.
"Soobin wanted all of us to protect you from it Nabi. That's why I lost all connections I had with you" He says.
"I get his family took me in but who ever said he was in charge of keeping secrets from me?" I questioned. Yeonjun just pulled me into a hug and took me to my room.
"One day Nabi you will understand why he is doing this for you and why the rest of us chose to follow those orders. When that day comes, you will finally understand why he did it. That's why he went to go find that person connected to you. So he can give you your answer" He said.
"But who is this person?" I asked.
"I don't know he didn't really tell me about them himself I just hope he isn't lying" He said.
I sat down at the desk and opened a small book that was on it.
"I put that together for you Nabi" He whispered.
I look through all of the photos of Yeonjun and I laughing and having fun. Why does this place seem so familiar?
"Yeonjun this image isn't that Lake Luna the one not too far from here?" I asked.
"Yeah it is why?" He asked.
"So that's why you stopped taking me there Soobin" I say to myself.
"There are many places we used to hang out at as kids but Soobin said every time he took you back to them after what happened you would get upset and remember things that never happened" He says.
"but what if the things I was remembering did happen? DO YOU JUST BELIEVE EVERYTHING HE SAYS YEONJUN!" I got mad at him.
"Nabi hey calm down that not what I'm saying at all. Look I will admit not much of what he says adds up half the time but we all chose not to question it" He said.
"take me then" I say.
"What?" He asked.
"Let's find out what I can remember about my past" I said.
I could tell this scared him but I needed this. Can't he see that not knowing anything is driving me crazy?
