My memory floods my mind like a wave. I couldn't see straight anymore. Everything was hazy and distorted. I wanted to scream from the agonizing pain I felt, and I heard fighting nearby. I stayed low and hidden in the woods.
Why would he do this to me? How could he hurt me like this? He killed them and lied. He took my memories. And everyone knew. Suddenly, I felt betrayed and alone in this cold, endless winter.
"SOOOOOBAAAAAAAA!" I screamed. I got up and ran as fast as I could with my pulse rising and my vision clearing. I made it into the town and found Yeji. She took me to the hunters, and they took me in listening to everything I had to say. Everything that I was remembering after so long not having any answers.
Yeonjun's pov
Once Nabi shot through the barrier with her memory lock cracking open, the protections wore off. I smell her lurking like a burning oder in the air.
Winter was here waiting to take the baby.
"Jay, take the cub and get to the gaurdians gate at the edge of the wood. Tell them the seal broke, and Nabi's lock has come undone," I said.
"Mom, dad, we have company," I tell them. They nod and go after her to stall while I make way around and find Nabi.
She is scared and confused, and I get that it's my fault, which is why I have to make this right. I have to tell her the truth.
"Please, Nabi, please just wait for me a little bit longer."
I ran after her for hours as Winter tried coming after me. My parents' attempts to cut her off won't last much longer as she can easily rip them to shreds because I know that I can, too.
"Stop running, you coward. You must know what you've done," she says, grabbing onto me.
A ripple wave shoots through the air, letting me know that Jay made it through.
"You ruined that poor girl she will never forgive you. She will never love you. Haha, not in the slightest. She already has a close connection to the wolf boy. Maybe he could be her real lover, you loser, " she says.
"What are you talking about? She can't. She's my bond, " I said.
"What did you just say?" she asks in an aggravated tone.
"She's my blood bond. That bond won't allow her to feel love for anyone else but me once she feels the tethers, " I say.
"Take him," she says.
"What?"
"You remember that night better than Nabi, correct?"
No, he's dead. I killed him. Her brother shouldn't be alive.
A screech howl crushes through the forest, and in that moment, they were both gone.
Nabi. I get up and run in the direction her scent trails but immediately lose consciousness. My body gave out on me. What's happening to me?
When I wake up, I am cuffed against a wall by shackles.
"Look, who's awake?"
My head was spinning as a blinding light beams over me.
"Where am I?"
"You are right where you needed to be all along in your eternal prison,"
"Taehyun, where's Nabi? She needs me, " I say.
"Oh, but you see, she doesn't. We have a friend who will help us with your kind, and she is perfect for the job, " he says.
"What?"
The door opens, and I see Lia tied up and blindfolded as she fights against the hunters.
"I won't help you let me go, you monsters," she says.
"Oh, you will, or we kill off the rest of your kind," he said.
"Let her go she has nothing to do with this,"
"Trust me, she does. See, for most of Nabi's life, she's suffered with many questions. So I thought what better way than to play the uno reverse card on the one who made her suffer, " he says.
"Lia, don't listen to him," I said.
"Lia, do you love your kind the other gaurdians?" He asks her.
"Yes."
"Then lock this immortal creature in a time loop of the night her family died."
"I'm sorry," she whispers in my ear.
She presses her palms against my bare chest, and my body burns before passing through a time ripple. I look around and recognize the scene clearly. This is how it started. My body moved on its own and acted by the written design. This is how he plans to punish me... how he plans to make me suffer. I try fighting my every move, but I just can't. Hours go by, and I've torn her family apart before her own eyes 18 times now. As if the 1 time wasn't bad enough. This burning feeling, I hate it. I lost everything I love that night and not just her but SoBa, too. The pack, my friends. They keep me in the time ripple for what seemed like days, maybe even weeks.
What do they want me to do?
Soobin's pov
I watch as Giselle is tossed over to the side as Heesung stands before me. As much as I wanted to catch her and get her to safety, I couldn't get up. This gas is burning my lungs and ripping open a wound that has been close for years.
He sends a screeching howl that causes my ears to curl and my bones to feel an unbearable amount of pain until I begin to cough up pools of blood. This was the echoing howl. It's only been mastered by powerful alphas that can harmonize to any wolf pack without knowing the pack mates. This howl can splinter every bone in the body cause others to lose their vision, rupture the blood vessel around the spine, and rip apart limbs. This howl echos for miles, but only us supernatural beings can hear it.
To others that are far out, they aren't as affected, but for us two, it's as if we are burning in agony. This call is used to signal other supernatural that an alpha is challenging all supernatural creatures for the final thrown. No one knows who the real leader of our world is, which is why vampires have blood bonds. It's known as a prophecy that on a full moon during a time of war, a blood bond dies in the hands of a hybrid. The only way to prevent such a prophecy is if the blood bond dies in the hands of their bond. This all strikes me seeing how Nabi is bonded to Yeonju, and we are at the time of a war. One thing that the guardians warned me about is Nabi's reign. If she were to be transformed into a supernatural hybrid, she could kill all of us on her own with just her bloodline.
Heesung takes off and shortly after the hunters show up with Beomgyu. I told him to flee and alert the others while we held Heesung off. Seems like our mission failed. I never found her brother, and I couldn't even warn the others.
