Cursed Hearts

I stay with Yeonjun out in the meeting space and watch over him.

Taehyun lets Soobin and Beomgyu out of the cages and leaves us un-guarded.

I told him I'd look after them so long as he feeds them. While I sleep on Soobin's lap, they watch over Yeonjun to make sure his condition is stable.

I let the darkness consume me after having resisted it for as long as I could.

Nabi's dream

I find myself standing in a soft lit room with a boy sitting at the center of it.

I walk closer and walk around him. 

"Junii"

"So you finally remember me," he says.

"I'm sorry I took so long. I left you waiting when that's exactly what I didn't want, " I say, just about ready to cry.

"Shh, it's okay." He stands up and hugs me.

"How can I wake you now?" I ask, not sure if he would hear my muffled voice.

He pulls away and holds my shoulders firmly.

"Your blood is the key, but you also need the wolves to harmonize even if a full moon is not imminent. Nabi, be warned I won't be the same person you remember. My memory of you has been burned away. If I attack you.... tell Soobin or that hunter to end it once and for all, " He said.

"No, Yeonjun, I won't let them because wouldn't that kill me too?" I asked.

"No, but It'll feel like you did," He says with sad eyes.

"I'm not letting them kill you,Yeonjun, not after I just got my memory of you back," I say.

"Nabi, you have to go," He said, stepping away from me.

"What no Yeon-"

End of her dream.

I shot up out of my sleep and felt Soobin grab onto me.

"Nabi, are you okay? what is it?" He asked.

"Where's Taehyun?" I asked.

"Right here," He said, walking in.

"I need your knife," I said.

"For what?" He asked.

"I'm gonna save him, but I need your knife to do so," I said.

He hesitated but did as I've asked and handed me his knife.

"I also need the wolves for this," I say.

"I can't let them out, Nabi," He says.

"I need them to harmonize so that I can save him," I said.

"Wait, you guy took his memories away?"Beomgyu  asked.

"How do you know that?"Soobin asked.

"Because he took you in, didn't he? He saved you and taught you and treated you like family, " I said.

"Bring the wolves," Taehyun says to Jungwon he hesitates but follows orders.

Yeji and Jungwon drag in all of the wolves tied up in chains. 

"Unchain them," Taehyun orders.

They do as told and push the wolves away from them.

I tell them what has to be done, and they refused but Soobin put his own life on the line for the sake of Yeonjun's life.

"Nabi, you're not going  to do anything rash, are you?" SoBa asked.

"Yes," I said. 

He signaled his pack, and they began to harmonize together. When I found the note, they all matched significantly, and I stabbed myself. Yeonjun's body reacts, and he stirs around before his entire appearance and clothes change. He pounced at me, and Beomgyu grabbed him before he could.

"No, let him go," I say.

"Nabi, he's never tasted the full essence of your blood before he can't handle it. He'll kill you, " He said.

"And maybe that's what needs to happen for him to remember who he was before," I said.

"Nabi" ???

I look up and see my very own brother, the same one that died all those years ago.

"Stay out of this," I said.

I looked at Beomgyu, and he let's Yeonjun go.

In seconds, my body falls weak. I felt his warmth, and then I didn't.

"Nabi," He whispered.

"Yeonjun you-" 

"No, what have I done?" He says in shock. He looks down at himself, covered in my blood, and moves away from me.

"Yeonjun, you have to," I say.

"I can't Nabi I can't hurt you I won't I've love you too much to go through with doing such a thing to you that's why I didn't kill you all those years ago and I'm sorry I lied to you. That I hid that from you and you have every right to hate I'll even let you kill me if you want just please don't make this my punishment. Please, " he says, scared of looking at me.

I walk closer to him, in which he tries to move away, but Beomgyu doesn't let him.

"This is not to punish you. This is me trying to save you from yourself. End this Yeonjun, " I say, holding my blood covered hand to his lip.

He looks at me with sad eyes and tries to resist me but eventually gives in. He feeds on me until my body goes numb. I feel nothing. I hear nothing. I see nothing. At last my life has come to an end and I can be with my parents.

Or so I thought.

Yeonjun's pov

Her body falls limp in my arms, and her heart stops beating. I felt my own breaking away as our tether strands began to shut down one by one. I can no longer feel her. I loved that feeling most in this world. She is indeed the child of prophecy, which is why I couldn't let her go.

Her brother attacks me head-on, and I know the reasons. I took him down without much effort, and that's when an all to familiar scent catches in the air. The wolves all transformed, growling back anger and hate as they defended me. Winter.

"well well that was quite the show. I must admit I am in touch with her devotion to die for you. The prophecy child sure knows how to deliver a message, but so do I, Yeonjun, " She says as she unveils my dead parents between us.

Just like her, I now know what it's like to be an orphan. 

"So, are you going to keep playing games, or are any of you going to give up the damn baby?" Heesung says, making his own appearance.

"Where is the cub?" Soobin asked.

"Where it should've been all along," Jake said, popping in.

Suddenly, Nabi's brother hid behind me and wolves.

"Why hide?" I communicate telepathically to him. I didn't expect he could do the same. Which means he's my progeny. I am the only vampire in all of history who has such powers, and that's because I was born inside of a guardian river, which is why, for a creature of death, I have a living heartbeat. I didn't kill him. I turned him without knowing. 

"I'm that cubs father. Heesung doesn't know this Winter does," He says back.

I look at her and then him and can easily tell he doesn't look at her as if she's his sister. He only views her as a sacrificial pawn.

"What do you want with that baby?" Jake asked.

"That divine creation is one that I've always despised. However, I've found a greater use for its life and that simply to serve mine, " He said.

"You're going to kill the cub and take his powers," I scoff.

"Heesung, you already killed his mother twice. Isn't that pushing the boundaries a little?" Winter said.

I felt Nabi's brother transforming behind me at those words.

"That child is the key to ending this all. Where is he?" Heesung asked, transforming before us all.
