Flashback - Yeonjun's pov
I've never felt so cold before. Her blood was warm as it is, yet isn't enough to warm up my cold body. I can't believe I just left her at the hospital. I should've stayed. I...I should go back. Yeah I'm going back I have to.
A screeching howl disturbed this quiet night and that's not just any kind of howl.
"Soobin" I whispered. His howl is full of pain and anguish. He's mad right now and probably is looking for me.
I stood up from the ground as the leaves the blood stained had stuck to my clothes. In just seconds my back hit the grounds.
"Soobin I'm sorry"
"YOU DAMN LIAR YOU COULD'VE KILLED HER!"
His claws sink into my chest as I try to fight him off.
"SOOBIN PLEASE DO YOU REALLY THINK I WANTED TO DO THIS!?"
"YOU DID IT ANYWAY SO NOTHING YOU SAY WILL CHANGE WHAT YOU DID!"
I pushed him off of me and a jolted forward.
"OUWWWWWWW!"
"Soobin what.... what did you just do? Who did you call out for?"
"You'd turn your back so easily on that girl for your parents delusions" his mother said.
"It's not like that I love Nabi as more than a friend and Soobin knows this. I didn't have a choice"
"You're wrong. You had many choices but instead you chose to be a coward and follow through with their crimes" Soobin growled.
"What? What crimes?"
"You're a vampire and don't even know?" His dad looked at me confused.
"He's a pure born. He doesn't know of the laws place upon the supernatural" his mom says.
"What laws what the hell is going on?"
"Yeonjun if a vampire tries to kill his blood bond he is to be executed by the gaurdian's"
"No you're lying my parents wouldn't kill their only son"
"Oh yeah well where are they now hmm?"
"Soobin please you don't have to do this"
"Yeah I do. You know how hard it is to see the girl you love on hospital bed bleeding out"
He glares at his pack to back off. This indicates a one on one against supernatural pure born sons. This is where our friendship ends.
I use what small advantage I have left against him and go for his most recent injury. It pains me knowing that it's come to this. He my best friend and my brother, the closest thing I'll ever have to a real family. Yet now I either have to take his life or surrender mine.
Before this fights even begun I had Soobin down on the ground clenching his recent wound.
"Poisonous arrows are a real bitch aren't they?"
"How did you....?"
I pulled out the arrow head from my pocket and showed him.
"You know there's a rumor among the hunters that an arrow head can store and maintain wolfs bane longer than any other poison out there"
"What?"
His confusion made my next move hurt much more than possible.
I jabbed the arrow head back into that same wound letting the wolfs bane bleed out into his lungs. His mother came rushing at me and I pulled the arrow head out.
"I suggest you stay back or the next body part this goes into will be his head"
"You really think we'll let you leave here alive after that" she asked snarling at me.
"No but I'm pretty sure pure borns are stronger than those who are turned. If I do recall that heartwarming dinner we had a while back you were bitten and so was your mate. I'm pretty sure I can take you both down and kill your meaningless pack"
"And if we surrender?"
"I'll heal him and let him go. If not I'll enjoy leaving him on the doorstep of the skilled hunter that shot him in the first place"
As much as I hate saying this to the people I once called family, I have to make it sound like I was serious.
"For what? Nabi. She'll never forgive you" His mom glares at me.
"I know why do you think I dropped her off at the hospital and ran
I didn't want her knowing what I am and I still don't. She doesn't deserve that and she definitely didn't deserve what I had done to her family"
"So what you want us to protect you keep quiet about the whole thing?" Soobin asked.
"If it keeps her safe then yeah but Soobin I love her too don't push me out of her life because of this"
"No you're done you blew yourself out of the fucking sky. I'm taking her in I'm going to protect her and if I have to I'll kill you in do so because tonight....tonight you almost killed her. You will no longer speak to her see her interact with her and if I even catch you trying to get close with her your parents will know the truth that you failed in killing her but they won't be the only ones you need to be on the look out for"
"Heal him" His father said.
I looked down at him and back at his pack his mom I saw the pain in her eyes but I also saw my own reflection. I feed him my blood and bite down into his wound sucking out the wolfs bane. This process can be very dangerous because his blood is a deadly venom and all he has to do is shift in my arms to activate it.
Once a shift takes his lycanthrope blood vessels emerge.
I've lost today more than I intended too. This means they knew she was my blood bond and wanted her dead for a reason. What reason?
