Mighty Gods screaming down to Earth. Ferocious streams of light illuminated the city below. The dark midnight blue cover was brightened up by the flashes of lightning. It was like no other. As if Thor was raging out his anger to the world below. The thunderstorm terrorised the civilians sending them home as the nimbostratus clouds poured heavy and hard.
The sharp thorns of precipitation that scattered across the concrete bounced off in many directions. Loud footsteps were heard everywhere, people tried to get to safety before the storm's anger rose.
However, there was one person, unlike the rest. He did not run for shelter. In hopes to get away from everything, his feet patterned against the splashing water trying to escape. Drenched with rain and sweat, he did not give up. Footsteps echoed the quiet streets. The boy leaned his back against the brick wall moderately peeking past.
"Where did he go?" a voice spoke quietly. "I don't know," another said. He observed from afar as they trudged in the flooded concrete taking the opposite direction to him. A gust of air left his lips in relief. Taking a deep breath, he shut his eyes tight, lifting his chin to the crying skies.
Peaceful and relaxing sounds surrounded. He took in all the details of the nightlife, the pitter-patter of the rain, the hooting of a distant owl, the slow-moving traffic. It calmed his nerves down after the hectic chase.
A disrupting loud buzz of his ringtone echoed, extending far and wide across the abandoned streets. Cursing at the caller who made the boy jolt, he clasped his hand over his beating chest. Nevertheless, he still picked it up. "What!" he clicked his tongue, speaking with no emotion riding his words. Clearly annoyed.
"Where are you? It's 3 in the morning!"
"On my way home. I was being chased by some fans" he groaned, slight irritation flowing through his words.
"I swear to god some of them piss me off. You ok? You didn't get hurt?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Well that's good to hear but your brother is searching for you"
"Tell him that I will be back in-" his words got cut off when a deafening squeal projected down the abandoned street. The boy glanced up to spot two obsessed girls making their way towards him. Instantly regretting his decision when connecting eyes with them he hurriedly spoke to the boy on the line. "Renjun I'll call you later." He said with remorse.
"Jeno! Jeno? Lee-"
His shouts went unfinished by the cut of the line. Jeno fled the area wherever his feet would take him. Unconsciously, he twisted around to see the girls closing up at extreme speed like some hungry cavemen on a hunt. Cursing under his breath he took a sharp turn into the forest hoping to lose them within the vast number of trees.
Large trunks blocked his straight path made the boy swerve in all directions attempting to lose them. It was dark and difficult to see what's ahead. Colourful autumn leaves scattered the forest floor. However, there weren't any satisfying crunching sounds that you would normally find when stepping on twigs or leaves. Soggy and damp leaves were crushed at every step he took caused by the heavy rain that carried on pouring.
