Happy memories can make you sad

Hand in pocket, Jeno trained his sight solely on the girl who was walking ahead of him. Now and then she kept on kicked pebbles that happened to be in her way. It was a give in that she was mad. The way she was strolling down with tensed up muscles and tightened fists that tainted into a lighter shade. He began to feel guilty for not telling her beforehand.

 "Merida" he hoped that she would stop but Ga-eun carried on walking blatantly ignoring him. "Merida!"

Sighing Jeno jogged over grabbing hold of her hand. However, she did not dare look up to him to connect their eyes. Instead she kept her head low. Exhaling hard, Jeno squeezed her hands gently before bending down to get a better look of the girl. Sadly, she just moved around every way he tilted his head. "Ga-eun please" the boy pleaded. His voice let out a small crack.

Abruptly stopping she took a deep gulp unable to think straight. Nonetheless, she still faced the floor eventually irritating him. But what made him loose his patience was when she pulled away nudging past him. Clicking his tongue, Jeno followed her footsteps as the girl began crossing the bridge over the river. Taking this as a chance he abruptly turned her around before throwing her over his shoulder. "Jeno put me dow- AHHH!" 

"Say a word and I will throw you into the river" biting her lip she stayed silent in hopes that he didn't actually mean what he said. However it was difficult to not believe, especially due to the serious gaze he sent her. Jeno placed her down onto the railings, resting his hands on either side of her hips holding her secure. "Now tell me what's wrong" he calmly spoke at last glad to see that she wasn't avoiding eye contact.

Unfortunately she wordlessly stared up with a blank emotion. Sighing Jeno shut his eyes before nodding to himself. "Fine, you asked for it" instantly the girl furrowed her brows confused however she understood what he meant as soon as he let go of her. Squealing Ga-eun gripping onto his shirt material pulling herself back up to fall onto his chest. 

Annoyance radiated off her after feeling the vibrations of his chuckling. Aggravated the girl tilted her chin up still hugging him. At the sight of her mesmerising orbs and the cute pout she had placed on Jeno gulped hard feeling his heart beat racing exponentially. A fit of fear arose, scared the Ga-eun maybe able to feel his pounding heart. 

Pushing her away lightly he held onto her shoulders. "Tell me now . . what's wrong" fiddling with her fingers, Ga-eun took a few deep inhales. "I'm sorry" that was not he expected. Furrowing his brows he gave a questioning look which she instantly took on hold. "For calling you ill and acting like you were stupid." biting his bottom lip Jeno tried to refrain himself from smiling. "Is that why you're upset?" he tilted his head lower to her level softly gazing at her. Nodding she pouted making him internally coo. "You were completely sane" she sulked sniffling lightly. Chuckling he gently ruffled her hair before pulling her into a warm embrace. 

"It's ok. It was annoying sometimes because I couldn't tell anyone my pain, But I had a fun time here even though you treated me like that" slowly she wrapped her arms around him nuzzling into his chest. "But tell me is it really real?" her voice came out quiet and frail. 

Puzzled by her question he took a glance at her wanting her to rephrase it differently. "The whole thing about there being more then one universe . . is it really real?"  hesitantly she asked still finding it mind blowing. 

Making a thin line with his lips Jeno nodding which immediately made her heart plummet in dejection. All this time she had been feeling awful that he was going somewhere far. She knew that it would be difficult to meet him often but now she realised that she would never ever be able to meet him. 

"Ga-eun are you ok?" gazing up back to him to fix their orbs she gave a sad smile before pulling him back into a hug to hide the tears welling up in her eyes.
