"You lost your memory. You can't find your way home and you don't recognise anything around you."
"I what?" Jeno couldn't believe what he was hearing. His mouth fell agape for a moment taking in everything she had spilled out before he groaned frustratingly as he pulled at his hair aggravated. "Look, I have all my memories intact. But something is happening around me. It's like I travelled to the past but there are things around here which don't explain how I am in the past." He rubbed his forehead aggressively. "You have creatures which have ceased to exist which is confusing. Honestly, where am I?"
He faced her desperately wanting answers. "Ezio"
"Ezi- what?!"
"We are in the Royal Capital Ezio in the Kingdom of Narva" she simply answered.
"Come again" She clicked her tongue not understanding what's so difficult with what she was saying. "Actually never mind" he took back his words shutting his eyes tight, killing his insides. Jeno felt his heart plummet. It was as if she was discarded into a well filled with water that was consuming his insides. His heart felt numb and desensitized. Running his hand over his face he pulled out his phone.
"Hey Siri. Where is Narva?" There was no response. "Hey Siri?" he tried again. "Siri?!"
"What are you doing?" she leaned closer towards the device. "What is that?" she pointed at the item in his rip with a suspicious look. It was as if she had never seen a phone in her entire life. Raking his eyes over her with a judgmental look he let out a small whine in agony not even bothered to stop the girl as she snatching his phone out of his grip.
Oh course it doesn't work - Jeno cried in disappointment
When he darted his dullened pupils at the girl beside him, they instantly dilated in fear. She was recklessly knocking it onto the wooden surface of the bench, hard and strong. "Hey it's going to break if you do that!" he yanked it back forcefully. Small whimpers left his lips feeling so lost and out of place. Looking at his depressed state she felt a tiny bit of sorrow for him. Randomly her hand came up into his view waving in front vigorously. Boring his eyes over to her he found the girl smiling sweetly.
"Lee Jeno, I will help you find your home. What do you say?" Her voice was welcoming and kind. She gestured to him to shake her hand by tilting her head towards her open palm. Filled with skepticism he studied her intentions. Raising his hand up his fingers twitched and he tilted his head to the side trying to figure out what to do.
She's a bit too kind - he narrowed his eyes cautious not sure what she was up to.
But then she helped him three times within the span of a day. Though it may be risky all he wanted to do is get back home. If it means getting help from some stranger he is up for it. Slowly reached over to grab her soft hand in his larger one before shaking it lightly. "You can just call me Jeno. It's fine"
"Well then Jeno, my name is Im Ga-eun and you can call me Ga-eun"
Even though his whole mood was low and droopy, somehow her smile was like healing magic, brightening up the dark sky of anyone's days. The dejected emotions that were swirling around him vanished to a more tranquil peace setting inside of him. He felt a bit more relieved by the fact that he isn't alone anymore in this dreading place and now has a helping hand.
Let's hope I didn't make a mistake
