Staring out the window Ga-eun leaned on the window sill admiring the night sky scattered with dots of stars. "Can't sleep?" slowly turning around she nodded slightly watching as their figure approached hers. They didn't say a word and just leaned on the windowsill beside her as well looking up at the starry sky.
Just enjoying the nocturnal sounds, Ga-eun shut her eyes close, taking in nature. "I'm sorry" slowly fluttering her eyes open, she looked over to her mother in confusion. "You must've had a hard time after coming here" relaxing her features she shook her head but her mother ignored her and carried on.
"I made you leave everything and everyone behind just for my selfish needs. But then again I was the cause of you ever moving to Narva in the first place. You left your friends, your life, your clinic and the horses to come here. I brought you here so you can meet your dad but the only reason you never met him was also because of me. Because I separated you both-"
"Mum" her voice fell low and stern. Cutting her in between Ga-eun placed on a scowl. "I don't want you ever to blame yourself" she scolded. "Mum . . do you remember what the elderly always say?" perplexed, Jia waited for Ga-eun to finish off.
"The path you choose may have options but it's always fate that's in charge. It was your fate that night to have fallen into Narva and it was my fate to have bumped into Jeno in the forest that one morning. It's something you can't change but fate always brings you to a better place." placing a hang on her shoulder she turned her so they could be facing one another properly. "So don't blame yourself. Everything happens for a good reason and you have to find a perfect way to reach your happiness"
Staring up at her daughter, Jia found herself mesmerised into her dusky brown eyes. "What did I do to deserve such an amazing daughter?" smirking Ga-eun flickered her hair before giving a smug look.
Scoffing Jia flicked her forehead lightly before laughing. "Mum, why are you even here?" she cocked a brow knowing there's another reason as to why she came so late at night. Jia still looked tensed up. Nerve-wracked she tried to find the best way to address her worries. "I only came here so you can meet your father. I actually never had intentions to get back with him seeing that he's still married to Eunha and all but then -"
"You want to be with him?" Ga-eun interrupted, aware as to where this is going. Blankly staring at her daughter she gave a defeated look before nodding. "Mum do what you want"
"But what about you and Jisung?" Ga-eun fell silent, unsure how to answer. She still felt like it was too early to conclude what she wanted to do. She did not want to make a mistake in her choice. Leaving Narva means leaving the life she had always known. But leaving Korea means that she won't be able to see her father ever again and also . . .
Jeno - she thought to herself. Pressing her lips together she glanced up to her mum with a clueless expression to which Jia instantly caught onto. "Take your time" she breathed out patting Ga-euns head.
