"Why wouldn't I care about the feeling of the girl I love" he yelled out unable to hold it in any longer. Chest raising up and down she froze in place unable to process his words. "W-what" she stuttered out finding it unbelievable.
Taking deep breathes, Jeno grasped her hands into his, intertwining their fingers. "I fucking love you Ga-eun. A lot! And it hurts me so much when you were talking about your father. You were in so much pain and I hated seeing you like that. I didn't want you to go through more pain so I kept it a secret from you. Finding out that you've been lied to your whole life . . I knew that it would hurt you even more"
"So you prefer me to never find out about my true home . . . forever" she spoke in a low and serious. At her cold tone Jeno's chocked out lightly, orbs wavering in fear. "N-no that's not what I meant. You have the right to know but not from me."
Gulping hard, the girl averted her gaze down to their connected hands. Trapping her bottom lip in between her teeth she pulled her palms out of his before dropping them on her lap. "Jeno . . ." she quietly breathed out. Loud enough for him to hear against the heavy precipitation. The trees swayed furiously in a violent manner. The sudden heavy gust of wind coming right at them. Like always, Jeno sensed the swift of her jasmine shampoo infiltrate towards him. Only this time it mixed with the natural smells of the soaked up plantations around them. However, unlike always it did not sooth him down but instead sent a tremor through his heart after hearing her next words. "Please leave me alone. I want to be by myself right now"
Grieving . . like a bullet dug through his skin digging deep into him. "Ga-eun I -"
Before he could even say the rest, a loud thunder of a lightning stroke close by into the forest. The sounds of ripples were heard crashing into one another aggressively. By the sudden thunderbolt that blinding them. Both Ga-eun and Jeno winced shutting their pupils automatically in hopes to shield their sight. Covering their faces with their palms they turned away from the bright light. A small whimper left Ga-eun's lips as she rubbed her eyelids lightly.
Slowly fluttering her eyes open she found a few black dots here and there consuming her view. Blinking a few times she waited until her pupils adjust to the new change. However, she noticed how the dark gloomy atmosphere in the forest look a transition to a more lightened one.
Squinting her eyes she saw Jenos looking away from her. Following his gaze she spotted a blinding aqua blue gleam illuminating through the trees. Even though the trees were blocking the view, Jeno felt some sort of familiarity with the energy that was radiating out around the tall pine trees.
Gritting his teeth tight he took in deep inhales unsure what to do. However, he noticed Ga-eun suddenly standing up on her two feet. Just like what he had experienced he noticed how she looked hypnotised towards the beauty shining at them. Her feet dragged through the soggy leaves towards the mysterious brightness. Not availing her orbs anywhere else she walked over completely mesmerized by it.
Wanting to stop her Jeno hauled himself up running after the girl but as soon as he grabbed her wrist she forcefully pulled away taking the last step into the open.
A river
Furious crashes of waves flowed down the meandered river in front of her. Ripples and splashes of water fell on her. But she did not care, already covered in rain water. What caused her eyes to widen and jaw to part open was the unusual sight in front of her.
Captivated she drew her attention to the hovering black hole above the river dripping with sapphire droplets of water. Tilting her head to the side she furrowed her brows in confusion. She tried to figure out what it was that she was standing right in front of.
Flickering her sight over to Jeno she expected him to be as clueless as she was but the girl was wrong. He did not seem bewildered by the phenomenon that he was facing. Instead he looked quite familiar with it. Just standing still frozen with his fists clenched tight.
The look in his eyes told her everything. Linking up the strange event in front of her she understood what it was.
The gateway
Jeno bit his bottom lip dissatisfied by what his eyes were feasting upon. He did not want to leave.
Not right now
He wanted to stay longer . . with her
It shocked him! Exponentially confusing him because all this time he was waiting for the portal to open so that he can go back to where he was originally from. Since the beginning he waited for the chance to leave however, he didn't want to leave everything behind. The life he begun here, the people he met here. He did not want to let go of everything. He did not want to let go of Ga-eun.
However, he knew that his family must be waiting for him.. . on the other side. Suddenly his train of misery took a halt when a small scoff was heard from the side. She held a strange gaze in her eyes.
Lowering his sight to the girl beside him he found her looking back at him dark and emotionless. However there was a glint of irritation. Before he could question why she was gazing at him like that it was answered by her next words.
"I guess the universe also wants you to leave me alone . . . forever"
