13. Fight

SANDRO

"I think I'm pregnant." Airi told me that late evening on our way home from work. I looked at her. She was biting her lips.

"How sure are you?"

"Ten percent."

I made a face. "When was the last time you had sex?" I asked.

"Bakit ko sasabihin sayo?" She frowned.

"Then don't tell me you think you are pregnant if you won't tell me." I retorted.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine. Last two weeks ago. I've been dating Edward since last month."

"My friend Edward? The one I introduced before?"

She nodded. "He hit on me and I was bored so I tried dating him. Kasalanan mo kasi ayaw mo makipag-sex."

"Now it's my fault then? Just what the hell Airi." I told her, rolling my eyes as I unlocked the door to our apartment.

"Fine. Sorry. Tangina kasi may butas ata yung condom niya." She muttered.

"What would you do if you were pregnant?" I asked. We went inside our unit. I turned on the heater because it was really cold. December is fast approaching.

"Edi sayo ko ipapaako dahil hindi ko naman talaga gusto yung kaibigan mo," I made a face. "Joke lang. Tangina talaga kung buntis ako." She said, shaking her head.

"Maybe you'll be a good mum if you were." I told her.

She shook head. "I doubt that Sandro. I highly doubt that," She stood up and kissed me on the cheeks. "Goodnight."

"Mate, how is Airi? She hasn't texted me since last week after our date." Edward asked me that morning in our class.

I looked at him. What the hell did Airi see in him that she dated him?

"Uhh. She's busy with her thesis. She's been staying up all night. Didn't know you dated her." I lied. Sorry Edward.

He smiled. "I asked her out four times before she said yes."

"Ah. I thought she was dating my younger brother Simon though." Sorry Simon.

Edward frowned. "What?"

"Simon picked her up last night after our shift." I am really sorry Simon.

"And here I thought she is serious about dating me." Edward muttered.

I gave him a small smile. "Sorry mate. If only I had known, I would have told you earlier."

He shook his head and tapped my back. "No biggie." He left, looking disappointed and went to his seat. Sorry Edward. I do not feel like giving Airi to you and it creeps the hell out of me but I can't imagine Airi being in a serious relationship with you.

I went to the pharmacy and bought a pregnancy test kit then headed in Airi's university to pick her up. She looked even surprise when she saw me standing by the school gate.

"Ginagawa mo dito?" She asked curiously.

I do not know Airi. I don't even know what I am doing.

"Picking you up." I replied, smiling.

She looked at me intently. "Okay?"

"Let's go." I told her and put my arms around her shoulders.

"You look weird Sandro." She mumbled while looking at me.

I sighed to myself. I don't even know what the hell I am doing.

"Take the test." Sandro said as soon as we got home. He tossed me the paper bag in which I assume is a pregnancy test kit.
