VINNY

I woke up with a massive headache and nausea. It was Borgy's fault. Yung tagay niya isang punong baso ng shot glass tapos mabilis pa. But I was too happy last night that I have finally introduced Airi to my family that I drunk a lot.

I sat up and leaned my back by the headboard. There was a bottle of water on top of my bed side table that says, drink me. I took it and drank it all. I was that thirsty for water after consuming alcohol last night.

The door opened when I put down the bottle. Airi entered with a bag of Starbucks in her hands. She was wearing her racer back sando and some sweat shorts along the rubber shoes I bought her the last time she was here.

"You're up." She spoke, looking at me.

I felt embarrassed all of a sudden because I was half naked. I wasn't that muscular but not fat either. I was in between.

"Uh. Yeah."

"I got you coffee," She paused. "Us pala kasi makikihati ako. It's iced. I assumed you are having a hangover so I got some when I passed by the Starbucks a while ago."

"Thank you Airi. I really need some hangover kit right now." I told her.

She smiled. "Yeah I assumed you drunk a lot last night."

I smiled back at her and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I went back and saw her sipping our coffee by my study table, looking at me. It felt weird so I went to my closet and grabbed some shirt before heading back.

"You look a lot better." She beamed.

I laughed and kissed her cheeks. "Good morning Airi."

"Good morning to you too." She greeted.

She gave me the coffee which I gladly accepted and took a sip. Airi stood up and made me seat on the chair then sat on my lap. I laughed at her cute gesture.

I drank the coffee. "That was refreshing." I expressed and drank more.

Airi giggled. "Do you remember what you did last night?" She asked.

"Did I do anything weird?" I asked. Her face was so close to mine that I wanted to kiss her.

"You sang me a song."

"That I remember." I said, chuckling.

"Buti naman."

"I wouldn't forget that one."

"Dapat lang. Eh yung nag-thank you ka kay Simon. Naalala mo?" She asked.

"I wouldn't forget that one either. As far as I remember, I sounded like someone asking their daughter to be my wife."

She laughed. "Sabi ko nga sa kanya papa na lang itawag ko sa kanya. He didn't want to."

I laughed. "He's not that old to be called papa and it's kinky too." She rolled her eyes.

"Do you think he'll like it if I ask him to be the one who'll walk me in the altar someday?" She asked.

"Maybe."

Airi once told me that she isn't close with her family since they are separated and has lived with their own families. She's been independent ever since. That makes me prouder of her than ever.

"I don't want to plan ahead Vinny because planning sucks. I've done it with Sandro. It did not end the way we wanted it to be. But do you still see me in your future?" She asked.

"I do Airi and I meant what I said last night. Every word."

"Kahit ex ako ni Sandro?"

I rolled my eyes. "I moved on from that matter a long time ago."
