AIRI
May banat ako.
Shet. Napaka-witty ko talaga. Send ko kay Sandro.
I hit that send button on my phone to wait for his reply.
An hour later hindi pa sumasagot. Pisting yawa. Eto tayo sa long distance eh. Day off ko, may work siya. Day off niya, may work ako especially that it is a busy day in the hotel during the weekends. Hayop talaga.
Wala na ulit akong sex life like walang nagpapasarap sa akin sa umaga, tanghali, gabi, hating-gabi at madaling araw. Joke. Na hindi joke.
Like he planned, he applied for an internship job at the Congress. He plans to learn there and maybe enter politics once he feels confident enough that he can do the job. Suma-sideline din siya sa Ilocos Norte as an Economic Consultant.
I have no work today so I decided to wait for Sandro to finish his work. He usually goes home at around six tapos makakauwi mga nine or ten because of the traffic. I told him to buy a unit near his work and he said he is currently looking.
I scrolled his Instagram account and noticed a lot of comments on one of his posts.
'Are you looking for a future first lady?' Feelingera.
'AHHHHH. UMUWI NA ANG BEBE KO' Bebe ko lang yan uy. I don't fucking share.
'Pag tumingin ka, AKIN KA' Ilibing kaya kita ng buhay?
There were more such as he can be the next leader of the Philippines or someone praised him for starting there. I bit my lips. I guess what I said about him having a huge responsibility in the future is in motion while I am left out here to decide whether I will support him or not. To stick with him from all those adversities or walk away and live a normal life.
I want to support him and stand with him, physically I mean but my work is not making me. I am still working on my goals here in London and I just got promoted recently. I am training from those above me and at the same time, training those who are below me. There is still much to learn and I think it is not yet the time to resign and decide to follow Sandro in the Philippines. And I don't feel like deciding that way just because he is the sole reason why. In the first place, it should be always for me and not for him.
Ako ang lugi if ever I do that and besides, his decision to enter politics is his decision alone too. I did not influence him for that matter.
Simon laughed beside me, interrupting my thoughts.
I looked at him. He was busy laughing while looking at his phone here in the cafe where we were hanging out. Day off namin both and I decided to invite him that sunny afternoon. Joke. Yabang.
"Ingay mo Simon." I told him.
He rolled his eyes. "Alangan naman gayahin kita na nag-aantay ng chat ni Sandro?" He retorted.
"Nakita mo?"
Simon raised a brow. "Well, we're sitting next to each other AJ. And who the hell messages that sort of thing? Really?"
"Pakialam mo ba e na-miss ko haplos ng jowa ko." I hissed.
He rolled his eyes. "Is that your way of sexting him? Send him one of your corny and horny pick up lines? Jeez. Does he patol those?"
I made a face. "Alam mo ikaw napaka-hayop mo talaga minsan. Yun na nga ang kaligayan ko simula nung iniwan niya ako para sa inang Pilipinas!" I exclaimed.
"AJ. Please."
"Anong please ka jan? Inaano ba kita?"
OMG!
SANDRO
Aanhin ang dila kung walang ka-french kiss.
I scoffed a laugh at Airi's message and shook my head.
'Hey I just got off work. How is your day?' I typed and sent her. It was already ten in the evening which means it was already mid or late afternoon in London.
'Yan lang isasagot mo sa dami ng banat na sinend ko?' She replied right away.
I laughed.
'What do you want me to say?'
'Send nudes Airi. Ganon'
I laughed even more. Silly woman. I wouldn't do that even if I am tempted to do so. Video call, seeing her on that small screen was already enough for me to feel her presence. I miss her. A lot. Two days later after coming home had me feeling something was missing.
Airi. The woman who I was with through my early adulthood. The woman who gave me home, unknowingly. The woman I planned my future with. I busied myself with work to avoid missing her but I ended up missinh her even more. That was the kind of effect she had on me.
I was already home at around eleven in the evening. I am currently in my parents house here in Forbes. I'm still looking for a place to live. It was a bit hard because I was looking for a place where Airi and I can stay once she decides to come home permanently. Yes. She is still part of my future plans.
Airi wasn't messaging me back so I decided to face time her after I took a shower.
'Hey Cinnamon. Busy?' I asked.
She pouted. 'Busy thinking of banat lines for you pero wala na akong maisip' she replied cutely.
'Paano kasi puro kalibugan na banat iniisip' I heard Simon speak in the background.
Airi rolled her eyes. 'Hayop talaga yang lalakeng yan,' She muttered then looked at me gently. 'Kumain ka na ba Sandwo?'
I smiled. 'Yeah. They served dinner in the congress'
'Share mo lang?' She retorted.
'What?'
'Wala,' She sighed. 'Tangina Sandwo I miss you sagad to my dede'
I laughed out loud, shaking my head. Airi will be Airi no matter what.
'What about you? Have you eaten?' I asked.
'Hindi. Malamig na unan katabi ko' She ranted.
I smiled gently. 'I miss you too Airi. Do you want steak for dinner? I'll pay. Bring Simon with you' I told her.
'Wow. Hindi ka na ba kuripot?' Simon interjected.
I rolled my eyes.
'Shut up Si'
'Gusto ko ikaw for dinner Sandwo' Airi retorted, showing me her cute pouting face.
Oh hell. I want that too Airi. I fucking do.
