AIRI

Baguio is a small city and a great place for Vinny and I to start our schemes. We'll go out today. Like a date. We have to know each other or else, mabubuking kami ng media or rather, fans. Inconsistent answers and actions often lead to those kind of things and we are playing it safe to make it believable na we are really dating each other.

For now, nasa Starbucks kami sa John Hay. The one that has a vintage vibe kind of Starbucks. We are currently sitting in the corner and so far, no one recognizes Vinny. There are only a few customers too so it's a good spot.

I turned my attention to my coffee and caught Vinny staring at me. I gave him a puzzled look. "What?"

He smiled like always used to. "Nothing. You're pretty just as Simon told me."

Tumaas kilay ko. "Sinabi niya yan?"

Vinny nodded.

"Bakit?" Tanong ko.

"Anong bakit? Maganda ka. Period."

Pota. Mas sosyal mag tagalong lalakeng 'to sa kanilang tatlo.

"Mas maganda sa ex mo?" Tanong ko.

"No."

"Oh kita mo. Magmo-move on ka na nga, ex pa rin kinampihan mo. Ingudngod kaya kita sa dede ko."

"Well we dated for years." He insisted.

"Ano naman ngayon. Eh sa ako fake girlfriend mo ngayon. Ako dapat kampihan mo. Ako lang." I argued.

Vinny grinned. "Possessive, aren't we? Baka ma-fall ka sa akin, Airi."

Nangulangot ako. "Pass."

"Gross."

"So, what's your favourite color?" He asked.

I made a face. "Ano tayo high school?"

"Don't people who date ask that question?"

"Mga high school na pabebe." Sagot ko.

"So what do we need to know about each other then?" He asked.

"Sex or chocolate." Walang abog na sagot ko.

He laughed. "Kaya mo ba?"

"Try me." I told him.

"Fine. Shoot."

Ngumisi ako. "Sex or chocolate?" I asked again.

"Of course. Sex." He answered proudly.

"Adik ka siguro." I commented.

"I'm not a sex maniac. Favourite position?" He asked.

"Missionary. Lazy bottom ako eh."

"Boring mong ka-sex."

"Hoy sarap na sarap sa akin kapatid mo."

Sumimangot siya. "I don't need to know if my brother was sexually satisfied with you."

Grabe yung 'was'. Past tense. Masakit sa dede. As if on cue, a familiar song was played inside the coffee shop.

"Oh. It's The Beetles," Vinny said, smiling. "Pops love The Beetles." He told me.

"Yeah. He played it before sa bahay niyo the last time I went there for Christmas."

Vinny smiled and started singing the song.

But of all these friends and lovers

There is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning
