"Well I dare say it looks like our boy is in control of himself this time."
Hange, Armin, Jean and I watched in amazement from the roof top at the Eren and Annie Titan fight.
"But still, there's no guarantee this will turn out different then their last fight," Armin suggested worriedly. I looked from Hange to Armin, "have faith in Eren. Determination is a powerful thing, especially when it comes to him," I said with complete confidence. Jean shook his head, "she's right, he wouldn't have transformed if he didn't think he would take her this time. He's got this, okay?" I was thankful for Jeans big mouth in this moment. But Armin continued the argument, "I don't doubt that but you don't need to understand that determination alone isn't enough to win a fight. You if all people should know that Jean. It'll take more than that to beat Annie.
"SPLIT INTO 2 TEAMS AND GO AROUND HER!"
i followed Hange's instructions. I was going to follow commander Erwin's plan no matter what, I trusted him with my whole being. And i think Hange was thinking the same.
The fight continued, Eren was on fire, and Him and Annie Dre stall fighting.
"Help him!" Mikasa shouted as she landed next to me on the roof top. Hange held her back, "no. With the state he's in it's probably best we keep a distance."
Annie hardened her fingers and begun to climb the wall before she was cut down by Mikasa.
Annie hit the ground with a scream. Eren ripped her Titan to shreds.
"Oh no! He's going to eat her whole!"
"Eren stop!"
"Don't do it!"
When Annie's body was visible inside the nape of her titans neck Eren hesitated. Then their was blue lightning and we were all blinded by winds and blue lights. Eren and Annie's titans, we're merging together.
Then I saw the familiar figure, my father, he swooped in and cut Eren from his Titan.
I stood next to my father as Armin and Mikasa tended to Eren.
I stood next to the crystal as Jean beat Annie's crystal and screamed. Jean was frantic. He swung his arm back ready to hit again before I grabbed his hand with the sword in it. "Please, thats enough," I said trying to sound calming. Then I heard another voice, "you better listen to her, it's over," my dad said with his hand and Jean's shoulder. Jean lowered his hand and dropped the sword. My dad left leaving Jean and I standing there, I don't even think we realized in that moment that I was still holding onto his clenched hand.
"Somebody give me a wire net!" Hange yelled, interrupting our little moment. They wrapped Annie's crystal in an iron net.I stood next to Eren's bed. Jean leaned up against the window and Mikasa sat next to me and Armin was there too. "Hey. You feel okay." Mikasa whispered when Eren's eyes finally opened. Eren sat up but didn't make eye Contact with any of us. "Yea. It's weird how okay I feel actually. So is Annie still stuck in that thing." I sighed at his question, "yea," I said softly looking down at the boy.
"Yea. You'd think after all that fate would cut us a little slack," jean grumbled annoyed.
"It's humbling really, knowing how far she'll go to keep her secret," Armin responded.
Jean rolled his eyes, "Humbling, more like infuriating."
"That's enough Jean, Eren doesn't need this bickering right now," I said softly but trying to sound stern.
"Why'd you met her go Eren," Armin asked the question that made all of us go silent.
Eren stoped looking at us now, "I didn't mean to. I just couldn't help it. I froze when I saw her face.
Suddenly the door opened.
"Armin Arlert. Jean Kirstein and Rin Ackerman. You're up first," a soldier announced.
The two boys left but when I made it to the door way I turned and smiled at Eren, "take care of yourself Eren." Then I left and followed the Boys.
"I can't get my head around it. This whole fighting fire with fire stuff or whatever. Is that really our only option?"
"Not necessarily. Just the only current on. And now we know Eren can do it."
"Eren proved it to us, just like you wanted, Jean." I didn't look at the boy when I spoke. Jean didn't look at me either, just kept talking calmly and steady. "Yea well if it's that easy for a fight to turn us all into monsters. Then maybe we don't deserve to win."
We were silent after that. Nothing but the sound of our foot steps was heard. I looked at the sun set only to see a flock of birds flying through the sky. I couldn't help but admire how amazing they were. They first real animal I ever saw was a bird after all.
