Everything was going according to Perrie's plan.
"The helicopter ride was amazing! I thought I'd be scared of being that high but I wasn't at all. I feel so alive!" Leigh-Anne was buzzing as they walked down the sandy beach hand in hand. Today had been a lot of fun so far. Perrie had brought her to the movies where they had seen a spectacular film about men fighting monsters and later she had brought her somewhere for lunch. Then they'd gone to the carnival where Leigh had ridden all of the rides and eaten many sweets. Once they were done there, Perrie had brought her to her helicopter where someone had been waiting in the pilot's seat to carry them to the beach.
The sun was about setting.
Perrie felt a bit queasy and shaken from all of the things Leigh had wanted to do in the carnival as well as because of the helicopter ride but she refused to show it. "Yes . . . fun." Maybe things weren't going exactly as she had planned. Why was Leigh-Anne so into terrifying activities that took place several feet from the ground?
Leigh-Anne had never felt this energetic. She wanted to run around screaming but was trying everything within her power not to. Other people were on this beach but they were all doing their own thing. "What did you say was next on the list? We played volleyball with them? Woo!" She pointed at a group of people playing the sport.
Wait is she hyper? Perrie was now realizing that that might be the case. Shit. Gave her too much sugar. "No, no. No volleyball. What you and I are going to do is . . . uh . . . sit and watch the sunset. Unless you want to stand that is." She needed to stay in one place.
"Oh okay. Well let's sit. Sit down." Leigh-Anne sat right where she had been standing and swayed from side to side. "Sit with me love."
Perrie smiled before sitting with a spinning head. "Well damn . . ."
Leigh's alert eyes suddenly seemed concerned. "What's wrong?"
"Ah nothing. Just trying to recover from being so high off the ground earlier. How do you do it? You had fun through all of those near death experiences." Perrie held her forehead.
"Aww poor booboo. Perrie they weren't near death experiences. They were just fun activities that happened to take place way up high. Woo! Remember the Ferris wheel?" Leigh rested a hand on Perrie's forehead as she spoke quickly.
Perrie remembered it alright. She remembered it well. "A common fear of normal people is that they'd get stuck at the top. I thought that that was why you'd been screaming while we were on it but it turned out you were just having the time of your life."
"Yes!" Leigh-Anne clapped. "I liked the ride where we were in tea cups too. Ooo. It spun so much and it was so fun. Yay! Fun." She bounced in place. "I've never felt this alive. Do you feel alive Perrie?"
Perrie looked at her with dead eyes.
"Uh-oh. Seems you don't. Do you think they sell tea anywhere close? I hope so. Maybe you need some." Leigh-Anne's eyes darted around. "I don't see anything but- oh. A flash in the distance." She pointed.
Perrie frowned. "What?" She looked too and saw another one. "People are taking pictures and have their flash on when the sun hasn't even gone down yet?"
"Seems so. Maybe someone's having a photoshoot nearby. What do you think?" Leigh held her arm in her lap and stroked it.
Perrie was happy. My sickness is fading too. She hoped that Leigh would become less hyper soon. She was cute but hard to follow. She talks so f*cking fast. "Maybe. See anyone who might be modeling?"
"You're the only model on this beach as far as I can see." Leigh poked Perrie's cheek. "Boop."
Perrie blushed. "You think I'm as hot as a model?" She stroked her hair bashfully.
