Jesy was allowed to come along to the dance battle opening since Leigh-Anne had called Perrie to say that she did not feel good so would not be coming. Perrie was not here because she had taken it upon herself to drive Leigh-Anne and Sairah home.
Hoseok was doing a solo on behalf of their crew and the crowd was going wild. The Warehouse was a large open space where the dance crews in the town came together to battle each other for fun. They had a DJ, snacks and everything. There was music blasting through the speakers.
"Hoseok is serving those moves!" The DJ called into the microphone.
Ray Ray, Jungkook, Princeton, Jade and Jesy encouraged him from behind as he shredded the dance floor with his pretzel body and crisp movements.
Jade would usually be howling the loudest for Hoseok but right now her heart was not really in it. She kept glancing at Jesy.
Jesy was having the time of her life. "AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON OUR BOY!" She hollered as Hoseok brought his body lower and lower while balancing on his ankles and leaning back. She laughed maniacally.
Jade was a bit abhorred by the way she could get on this way. Perrie had not gotten much out of Leigh-Anne but Sairah had told her about what upset Leigh after Perrie dropped them off. After Sairah had relayed the information, Perrie had sent it to Jade and the other guys. It looked to Jade as if Jesy's name calling was what really pushed Leigh over the edge.
"Ohhh!" The crowd said after Hoseok delivered the final move. They unanimously agreed that Hoseok's crew was the winner of this round.
Later, they were gathering on the sidelines to get some drinks.
"I thought you woulda ended it there but no. You just kept giving it to them man." Ray Ray said proudly to Hoseok.
"He's never at school but he shows up for dance. Shame on you." Jungkook said out of nowhere.
Everyone looked at him.
"Way to kill the vibe." Jesy told him, causing them to laugh.
"Yeah . . . bad . . . vibes." Jade sipped her drink and looked away.
Jesy laughed. "And to think I woulda ended up missing all of this. This was amazing. I feel bad for Leigh-Anne but it's better that I'm here than her. She wouldn't even understand any of this. She doesn't know dance like I do." She did some steps for them.
"Ah woulda been nice if she coulda come but it's good that you're here too I guess." Princeton said.
"Perrie would have loved me out there." Hoseok was still pumped from that dance battle. Nothing inflated his horribly large ego more than people cheering his name. He was God in this room and no one could tell him otherwise.
Jade did not understand how these guys could be so casual with Jesy. They knew that the name calling of Leigh-Anne that was going on around their school was Jesy's fault so . . .
Jesy laughed at something Jungkook said and pushed him. He did not budge since he was a huge guy.
As Jade watched her, she tried to remember what her initial attraction was. Jesy was . . . beautiful. She was gorgeous. Her eyes were incredible, lips, freckles, gorgeous hair . . . she had a good look but her attitude . . .
Jesy turned to her. "Aye you aren't saying anything. What's up with that?"
Jade did not want to kill the vibe but . . . "I think you should really stop perpetuating the idea that Leigh-Anne is this insane, crazy, r-word person like you've been doing. I know that you think you're helping to keep our creepy schoolmates away from her by doing that but the fact that you think that saying those things will keep people away is already bad. Like . . . you're encouraging the stigma around mental illness and disabilities."
