It was the weekend and Jesy felt like she had been doing a good job at staying away from trouble.
The problem was that she liked trouble so was very bored without it. Whenever people in her school asked about Leigh-Anne or gave her updates on Liza and how thirsty the girl was, she would painfully ignore it and give no comment. Her guy friends had made it known to her that Jade was in a vulnerable place and Jesy knew it was because of her. She would try to apologize but she was not sure if Jade would accept it. Last she spoke to Jade was at that dance event. Jade had seemed peeved about their past relationship. Jesy was not sure of why Jade was upset about that now considering they had broken up but she would still try to apologize for it. It was just hard to find Jade anywhere.
Perrie was still staying away from her so the only people Jesy was around were the guys. They kept explaining to her why calling Leigh-Anne those names had been bad and Jesy had gotten tired of it. She found it annoying to be constantly reminded of what she said. She would not use those words again and she certainly would not mention Leigh-Anne again either. It had been going well so far but every time Sairah visited she would feel kind of bad because the chill older girl seemed pretty unfond of her. She could guess why.
Sairah and Joe sat side by side on the living room floor with a comic book opened on their lap.
"This is sick." Sairah said as her eyes trained along the words.
"I know . . . oooo!" Joe was ahead of her.
"What is i- oh shit." Sairah laughed. "Can I turn the page?"
"Yeah." Joe allowed her. They were reading the latest comic of a superhero book they both enjoyed.
Jesy had been in her room but decided to migrate to the couch since she felt pain at the idea of completely avoiding all of the drama happening on her Whatsapp. Somebody's nudes had gotten leaked. Jesy would participate in the drama but she felt it would be best to stayaway from it.
She frowned at what they were reading then hopped off the couch to come to Sairah's side. "What's that about?"
Sairah frowned at her. "Spiderman. What's it matter to you?"
Does she hate me or is this just how she talks? She could not tell anymore but she really did not want Sairah to dislike her. They had a good thing going. Jesy thought she had a chance. "I'm bored."
Joe blinked at his sister. "Why?"
Jesy scowled at him. "Well Joseph, I'm on a quest to improve as a human being so therefore, I can no longer partake in online drama spread by my schoolmates. The thing is, that was what I liked doing so now that I can't do that, I'm f*cking bored all the time."
Sairah rolled her eyes. "Watch some educational documentaries about mental illness, the stigma behind it, it's relation to disabilities and the stigma behind that. It might help you to be more compassionate."
Ah shit. She really is mad about that. Jesy had not even been the one to send those guys after Leigh-Anne or to start using those words! Those guys had used the r-word first! "That was specific."
Sairah sighed as she looked at the comic book. "I watched a couple myself."
Joe nodded. "She said it helped her a lot."
Jesy scratched her head. "Where did you find those documentaries? Netflix?"
Sairah blew a raspberry. "Yeah. Amanda lets us use hers." She finally made eye-contact with Jesy.
Jesy liked her eyes. She took in a sharp breath. "Okay . . . maybe I should watch them then."
Sairah raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
